COALITION SOLDIERS QUESTION NEWS MEDIA FOLLOWING ROADSIDE BOMB

MOSUL, Iraq - Coalition soldiers questioned two news media cameramen and a reporter after a roadside bomb exploded near a Coalition convoy two kilometers north of Mosul June 3.

The media, who were at the scene prior to the attack, told soldiers at the scene they had received a tip to be at that location prior to the attack and they had witnessed the explosion.

There was minimal damage to a Coalition vehicle, a cracked windshield, and no serious injuries.

3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division soldiers requested the media accompany them to a base camp in Mosul to answer questions as witnesses to the incident. The news media representatives left the base camp in the mid afternoon.

I am not sure whether the media persons involved realized exactly waht was gonn ahappen, but I think as humans, they should have warned those in harms way.

Einstein's "Theory of Relativity" is still being challenged to this day, but by consensus Global Warming is a fact... that's REAL science at work, why didn't Albert just go that route?

I agree. If someone sent a message of when and where they were planning to kill American soldiers it is obvious they should have alerted the military. However, I find it hard to believe the warning was not given, unless there was nothing to tell them. According to the link the cameramen said they were tipped SOMETHING would happen but not what. I would like to think they went there to find out what was going on and if they had some real evidence to report, they would have.

Not a day goes by that I don't see something that reinforces my belief that people are idiots.

there was a media town hall forum one time... they asked leading reporters like brokaw, etc., about their perception on what "good reporting" was.. they sort of have that anthropological mindset where they prefer to be bugs on the wall and don't want to "meddle"..

one of the questions went something like - "if you (an american reporter) were travelling with a group of rebels and you had solid information that they were planning an ambush on american troops, would you tell the troops, or stay out of the situation and report on the story?"

it was unanimous, they all said they'd keep their hands clean and report the story.

hope for america...
