But no more. Polls now show that only a minority of Americans think that his handling of terrorism is good, or are "proud" of the US role in Iraq. It's about time. With the US military bogged down in Iraq, and Afghanistan still a chaotic terrorist breeding ground overrun by warlords, we are being warned that Al Qaeda is as big a threat as ever, with recruitment booming and major attacks possibly planned for this summer. All this despite Congress writing a blank check for $200 billion and additional expenditures--mostly for the Iraq war. This inevitably means, as an internal White House budget memo leaked to the Washington Post last week acknowledges, an impending cut across the board in 2006 funding of domestic programs such as education and even for the Department of Homeland Security." if we reelect bush we doom ourselves to this fate. more cuts in education, more disastrously planned tax cuts, more economic folly, more war, more mismanagement. please listen to the voice of mercy and remove bush from power. he is a loose cannon that we cannot afford to unleash on the world for a second round. |

So far he seems to agree more with Dubya on the war than he disagrees. Pathetic. Rick "When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross." Sinclair Lewis |

| Guest Posts: n/a | bush is going to lose because he has fuc&ed up this country in terms of economy, education, healthcare, the military, worldwide and internal respect, and human rights. bush's foreign policy is disasterous, and if reelected he will continue to misuse our military and tip our economy even farther in the red. the neoconservative revolution must come to an end, as bush is demonstrating. i'm sorry you cannot see what atrocities bush has done to us. kerry is dealing with realities bush imposed on us. as for kerry being 'weak', i am glad to know that he will be the uniter bush promised to be, and actually listen to the voters and to his advisors, instead of firing them when they tell him iraq will cost $300B and take 300K soldiers like bush did. |

This is what worries me as all it takes is to threaten or bribe the new Iraqi "government" into making Bush look like this was his plan all along and every other failure (environment, economy, education, etc.) he might have on his record will be immediately ignored by the sheep. And we will continue to debate if his success was real or fabricated for our consumption. Not a day goes by that I don't see something that reinforces my belief that people are idiots. |

| Retired Posts: 7,312 | Kerry leads Bush by 7 points in new poll Democrat ahead 51 to 44 percent. Poll respondents gave Kerry better marks for ideas for strengthening the economy, building respect for the U.S. around the world, and handling the problems of cost and access to health care... http://msnbc.msn.com/id/5181338/ The flip-floppind thing is hurting Kerry. I wish he'd advertize all of Bush's flip-flops to show they are on similar footing in this reagard! He also needs to use that quote: When someone convinces me I'm wrong, I change my mind. He's not alone. I've noticed that in my lifetime, most presidents seem to spend their first term trying to get reelected and their second term working on how they'll look in the history books, but not a lot of time doing what they were elected to do. ![]() Son of X51 Location: San Diego Posts: 3,637 | Again with a useless LA TIMES poll. What is more interesting is the PEW poll cited further down saying "Kerry's lead narrowed to 46-43 when Nader was included." 3% margin of error puts them dead even. Also, "...In fact, Times polling in three battleground states found that Bush was leading Kerry in Missouri and even with the Democrat in Ohio and Wisconsin." So, Kerry's best chances of winning are even favoring Bush. You'd think Kerry would have a landslide victory. However, his strongest states are "battleground" states. How is it they're so close? I'd like to thank Charlie Hodge, bringing me scarves and water. |
