New memo from the Justice Dept that was sent to the Whitehouse, it explained that the President didn't have to Honor Treaties on Torture...The President has the Authority to authorize torture. Now I could care what they do with them, but this memo means that someone in the Bush administration asked the Justice Dept who had the power to authorize torture...otherwise the Justice Dept would look like fools sending the Whitehouse a Memo that says the President has the Power right? Then again Bush appointed Ashecroft and if you Google Missiouri and Ashecroft you'll find out that in an election for a congress seat in Missiouri...Ashecroft lost by 90% of the Vote, to a Man whom had been Deceased for a week before the election. To me and maybe just to Me Biden looked like he wanted to whoop Ashe's Ashe for Him. I haven't seen a Politician have that look in his eye before, you know the look...that I'll Kill You Look, Biden's face got all tight and he was kinda spitting too...but hey he got his Point across!

What is so scary is that it appears that the Bush administration truly belives that the President is above the law - virtually any law, so long as it can be justified in thr fight against terror.

Any prisoners can be tortured. Any American citizen can be stripped of all rights by being declared and "enemy combatant." Of course the White Hoise denies all, yet the proactices discussed in the torture memo became part of military doctrine at Gitmo and Abu Ghraib.

Scary, scary stuff.
