I would have voted for the Greens if I was in your country, they scored a big 5 this time around, and seem to be the only other party gaining some momentum.

it makes more sense to become a tradesman. you can easily make more money that way.
If you want real money, work for an Asian restaurant. You never report taxes.

the wealth gap between GenY and baby boomers is huge, much moreso than previous generations. this is not coincidence. howard's policies are highly discriminatory in favour of his generation.
Actually I think its because the baby boomers are too busy working, while Generation Y is too busy whining and talking about "banging some hoes, mutherfawker!!!!" (and they should also pull their pants up).

Besides, I think a bit of poverty will kick those Generation Y kids into realism. Generation X was given everything from a silver spoon, and look at them now.

Austrailia has 50% taxes, and you still have debt? I have a solution. Raise taxes to pay it off.

that's BS. it's quite a bit. my brother just graduated and owes something like $20-30,000. you can't pass that off as a "tiny portion".

unlike hard working white people. take kerry packer, richest man in australia. he must have paid $billions in taxes right? wrong. he pays about $1000 each year.

no it's because baby boomers got a free education, and continue to cop the benefits from all the tax cuts, rebates, etc. thrown at them by the govt.

meanwhile Gen Y get taxed or HECSed out of existence. housing prices are insane.

the idea is that baby boomers will eventually pass their wealth on through inheritance. guess what? recent research suggests most plan to spend it on world farewell tour holidays, etc.

there is no doubt that being a young person in australia today is a much harder economic proposition than being a baby boomer. this is not a 'fact of life', it is by design.

OK let me make this clear to you.

First, REGARDLESS of your debt, you pay them back very slowly. Your debt is paid something like less than 1% of your income at lowest levels. Unlike America, Australian college loans do not incur any interest (except for inflation).

So you say your brother has $20K debt. You do realise he does not have to pay it all at once, right? And you do realise without interest, if he is unemployed he could spend his life not having to pay it back, right?

Can you provide verification and evidence of that? If you don't, you can be sued for defamation.

Can you specify exactly, in comparision, the exact number of tax cuts and rebates, compared with the amount of youth allowance Generation Y kids get? Please provide evidence.

Yes, that is true. But kids today have more opportunities. Did people have endless resources on Google to help them in 1950? Was the Internet even around? Did people have things like PDAs and mobile phones in the 1950s?

No matter how you twist it, the fact is that people today have far more resources available than the baby boomers ever did.
