We often downplay Voodooism as some strange cult based on outdated supersitions. However the power of suggeston is well known about from hypnotic research and in the field of phychology. And most surely known about by those working in the fields of advertising.

I am posting this idea (which I created and there-by have no links for backup purposes) in the poltical and governmental section because the particular act of mass voodooism was orginated when Reagan was president with the help of the Surgeon General he apponted.

This is about the anti-smoking conspiracy which orignally was established to devert blame of illnesses away from fosil fuel industries by placing the blame on individual smokers.

Now in Voodooism the Witchdoctor can make people come down with a real illness because they believe in his powers and authority, through suggestions or "spells". In our case people get sick because the Surgeon General (top witchdoctor) used the power of suggestion to link smoking with illnesses. This was followed up with mass advertising and by doctors repeating the news presented by the Surgeon General to many patients until now nearly eveyone subjected to that suggestion believes in it and therefore can get ill from smoking tobacco. Many have become the victims of that voodooism and so they likewise repeat the suggestion to others, using peer pressure or whatever measure they can use to manipulate others to likewise believe in the powers of that suggestion, as being the truth.

The drug companies also support the continued claims that 2nd hand smoke can cause illnesses because tobacco is used to combat stress with in the number one cause of some terminal illnesses, and they want to promote their more expensive products by getting folks to stop smoking which will make them even more prone to buy a drug to off-set stress.

The sad part is that while environmentalists got distracted in the mission to stop smokers the fosil fuels continued to smog up the world causing drastic weather changes and global warming. But the plan that orginated during the Reagan years did work for a while in sidetracking the environmentalist movement. And people still believe in the suggestion that tobacco smoke is the cause of a number of illnesses (they keep adding more to the list) in spite of the reality that science has provided no absolute proof that such is the case (based on real science).

And none dare call it Voodooism (except for me of course).

Truly, I'm pretty sure alll the anti-smoking sentiment comes to us from the Liberals, and Wild Bill Clintons Executive Order to restrict smoking at the White House. ( The Executive Order was used because he couldn't do something like that legally. )
