Meeting Morgan Freeman, Obama gets cocky

On meeting Morgan Freeman:
Quote:
When Morgan Freeman comes over to greet Obama, the senator begins bowing down both hands in worship. "This guy was president before I was," says Obama, referring to Freeman's turn in Deep Impact and, clearly, getting a little ahead of his own bio.
Yep, getting a little ahead indeed. But Americans like cockiness. I say go for it. Very Bill Clinton.

Edit: I can only assume the article is referencing the actor and not our beloved member.

Obama is riding the wave of support, and well, it's going to be interesting.

Hillary is out there, she's got some serious issues with her base who re seeking someone fresh, new and ready to go.

I personally think she would have won had she run in '04, but now... Obama has momentum and that counts.

But like Han Solo, that wise sage once said:
"Don't get cocky kid"

Einstein's "Theory of Relativity" is still being challenged to this day, but by consensus Global Warming is a fact... that's REAL science at work, why didn't Albert just go that route?

the election will be interesting to see. Seeing how the more likely candidates are either Hilary or Obama I assume it will be one of them.

If Hillary is chosen, will it be seen as intolerance to black people?

If Obama is chosen, will it be seen as intolerance towards women?

Beware of Logical Fallacies. See a list of them in the link below.

I don't think either of those issues will be factors.

The issue here is upstart, but charming charismatic guy who happens to be black is up against a former first lady and sitting senator with more experience then he.

What this is going to come down to honestly is "likability" for the Dems.

Can Hillary over come her baggage to beat out Obama's Charisma?

Next, a nod to Bruce Almighty: "This guy was God before I was." (Okay, more than a little ahead.) But Freeman is eating it up. Leaning in, he tells the senator to win it. "I will," Obama replies. "That's why I'm running."
Maybe a bit too cocky. :)

As soon as Obama's middle name is used, "Hussein", his bid for the election is done...That's why "everyone" is avoiding it like the plague...:)

Obama is the second coming of Jesus Christ.

Hillary is a robot from outer space, sent to Earth for unknown but quite certainly nefarious purposes.

John Edwards, just wants to be president so he can pass tort reform that will make it even easier for people to get millions for "pain and suffering".

John Mcain is thousands of years old, and is immortal. With the clairvoyance he has obtained from living so long, he discovered in 1995 that sometime in the next 20 years, congress would give the president emergency dictator for life powers. He is anxious therefore to gain the presidency so that he can rule the US forever.

Romney is running so that he can do his part in the planned Mormon takeover of 2012.

Gulliani just wants to live in the White House, cause it ain't black; part of the KKK he is...(they arent aware he is jewish-few are).

Ron Paul is a closet socialist.

I think i'm votin for Obama, but if your not, I might apply a label to you, were the point system not in place (commie, racist, fundie, pro-alien person, etc).

I would pay to see Obama meet this forums Morgan Freeman, whereas I wouldn't cross the street to see Obama meet the REAL Morgan Freeman.

Funny tangent story:

Last week I saw Kofi Annan speak in Houston. He told a story where was traveling abroad and was on a subway, trying to keep a low profile. A man walked up and said, "I know who you are! You're Morgan Freeman! Can I have your autograph?" Annan said, "Sure," and signed it as such.

Afterwards, one of his security people leaned forward and said, "You know, now our job is easier. We've only got Morgan Freeman!"

There is only one person to vote for to be President, and it is this man.

If you don't, he will give you a spinning roundhouse kick to the face.

I'd like to see some evidence of this wild claim. Nothing could be further from the truth here. Ron Paul is a Republican who is more associated with the Libertarian Party than he is with the Socialist Party. Anyone who believes that Ron Paul is a "closet socialist" either doesn't understand his ideology or the ideology of the LP.

Congressman Ron Paul

Quote:
WHO IS RON PAUL?

Congressman Ron Paul of Texas enjoys a national reputation as the premier advocate for liberty in politics today. Dr. Paul is the leading spokesman in Washington for limited constitutional government, low taxes, free markets, and a return to sound monetary policies based on commodity-backed currency. He is known among both his colleagues in Congress and his constituents for his consistent voting record in the House of Representatives: Dr. Paul never votes for legislation unless the proposed measure is expressly authorized by the Constitution. In the words of former Treasury Secretary William Simon, Dr. Paul is the "one exception to the Gang of 535" on Capitol Hill

Free markets? Commodity backed currency? Hardly socialist platforms there, Yarn.

gw120, if you like socialism, why don't you move to one of the nations that based their law on the incomplete philosophy that is socialism?

Our nations is the opposite of that.
