| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 9,491 | LOL. The lies and the cover-up just keep being revealed and you just keep up your foolish denials. Even your mad king has given up the game. Bush hope "that those responsible for misleading the family of a US football star killed in Afghanistan will be punished," according to the White House. When even the liar-in-chief admits to the cover-up, why bother the mindless denial? | pregnant with truth Posts: 2,182 | Reprimands to officers in Tillman case are only mildly critical. (reads the headline for my Yahoo main page. but the headline for the article is different. so now there's two opportunities for headlines. It's a brand new world baby. THe last time I was tripping on a headline change, this is what happened. There's two headlines. The one you read on your home page and the headline of the article are different. In the past headlines and text within a news story have changed. I would even say frequently. without further adoo. ha! adoo!...the article Quote:
I'm going to make a prediction. This case has been covered at suprising times from suprising sources. I think, what's the catch? This case is like taking a punch. A sac fly. here's the counter punch. the run scored. This trial WILL be given a public hearing, but trust nothing. We need to hear it more than anna nicole ever deserves a second glance. This is a case that shlould be on the front page. we need to have an answer on this one and a few more. wtf is going on these days?

Yeah, I saw this on 60 Minutes last night. Tragic. This truly illustrates why one doesn't just hop into bed ( contracts ) with corrupt institutions. What can you really say, but that this is just another layer of tarnish adding to the patina. ![]()

American troops, although brave and well equipped, have always been well known for their lack of brains.

American troops walked around yakking loudly to each other, having racial disagreements amongst each other, even playing music. Then the idiots wondered why charlie find them so easily, air support! help! medic! The aussies never liked fighting with them, and still dont, because although brave and resourceful, they are also arrogant, loud and they are dumb.

They're crack shock troops, but not quite the cool, veteran special forces and other units typically fed by ex rangers. Anyway, I was talking vietnem with Anmon. To, anmon, The army in vietnem was quite different from the army today. Most soldiers in vietnam were conscripted and even in the beginning few wanted to be there. I'd imagine even regular infantry are far less unprofessional. “Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.” -Albert Einstein |

My fathers came out, and he went for training but he didn't pass the medical because he had flat feet and the after affects of polio, lucky for me I guess, if his feet had been normal and no polio effects, he definitely would have come back a different man(if he survived) and would have probably not married mum who he met a few years later at a university party. I think the Americans then and now suffer from a lot of arrogance because of the incredible advantage they have in firepower. The Aussies only had their own wits mostly to keep them safe, so they were quieter and more careful, but still good soldiers. If they lost a gun, they didn't get a replacement for two weeks, the yanks could just throw theirs away if it jammed, and walk back to base and get another one. The most important thing you should have going into a wa rzone is calmness.

| Altruism Assassin Location: Massachusetts Posts: 4,972 | Thanks for the info, Anmon, the only reading I ever do on aussies in Vietnem is on SAS, so maybe I'll expand my knowlege base. And Clarence has a point, in Vietnem there were The absolute elite, Green Berets and SEALs, (the kind of men who'd go on to make up stuff like Delta) who had essentially made vietnam theirs in the years they had been fighting there, then there were less elite units whose espirit de corps still tended to produce high professionalism and even enthusiasm, but all too often the average infantry was made up of conscripts who did pot half the time. Granted, you certainly can't really generalize by unit. The point is, you really can't generalize about american soildiering based on an exceptional situation over 30 years ago. “Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.” -Albert Einstein |

Anyone planning to comment further should read the some the pages and articles referenced in this thread. So that they are somewhat familiar with the development of this subject |
