I think we need a little more info on the events/interactions between Tillman and his troops before we start drawing conclusions as to just where this case fits into the different types of FF.
So I guess you are intentionally ignoring the issue. OK. I am less interested in the nitty gritty details of what happened that day than why everyone from General Abiziad on down chose to lie about it and why that is not the subject of the investigation.
Quote:
The latest investigation, written about by The Washington Post earlier this month, showed that soldiers in Afghanistan knew almost immediately that they had killed Tillman by mistake in what they believed was a firefight with enemies on a tight canyon road. The investigation also revealed that soldiers later burned Tillman's uniform and body armor.

That information was slow to make it back to the United States, the report said, and Army officials here were unaware that his death on April 22, 2004, was fratricide when they notified the family that Tillman had been shot.

Over the next 10 days, however, top-ranking Army officials -- including the theater commander, Army Gen. John P. Abizaid -- were told of the reports that Tillman had been killed by his own men, the investigation said. But the Army waited until a formal investigation was finished before telling the family -- which was weeks after a nationally televised memorial service that honored Tillman on May 3, 2004.

I find it difficult to give much of my attention to that which I do not consider to be an issue.......that you, during a period in which many considered us to be at war, would second-guess the decision to put an unfortunate event in a good light for the consumption of a population well known for its weak stomach, is rather baffling to one who would rather see our society continue, whether it cost you 90% of those "freedoms" lefties like to attribute to themselves, regardless of what is outlined in the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

There I go again.........pay no attention folks, nothing to see here.....move along, now....

Your US constitution does not mean shit to me. As I am a Canadian with parents born in Great Britain your Constitution is a simple reminder that you are a nation of traitors who hung British generals and completed sneak attacks in such a manner that it is the US that invented guerilla warfare. Yours is a country that sucked up to mighty France to save your bacon, TWICE. I simply view the USA as a nation conqured by France. The USA is a nation of Benjamin Arnolds. A damn shame my British forebears did not feel their Colonies were worth any effort to retain. True the problems with Europe were of grand importance but we should have found a way to destroy your silly little revolt.

Sounds like you have had your ass kicked by a few too many American visitors in your home town bar. I haven't seen propaganda as vile as you espouse in Canada, so yours must be a hill born home brewed mix of inbreeding and frostbite?

American guy steal your lady?

That is some hatred you got built up there....might want to say "serenity now" a few times to yourself and stabilize.

Come now dear child. I do not espouse hatred of the USA. I am very pleased that for many years you have helped keep our taxes even lower than they could have been by paying for the defence of our country. Mwaaaaaah. Love you Americans for that. Keep up the good work. Two thumbs up. At least you serve a dual purpose - you protect our country from invasion and you make us wealthier than sin via NAFTA.

It's a good thing that you think so much of France, what with Quebec becoming part of the vast French Empire, or is it only a half-vast empire? You sound like you're pretty much French already.

Who is Benjamin Arnold??

BTW, I've worked with the pongoes in your military, and you're right, they're lucky we are around to defend them. Sometimes the Canadian military's truck breaks down and there are no major troop movements until they get it fixed again. Even if we take out a few of them from time to time, they don't seem to mind.

Obviously a historian without authority or reference, our good neighbor refers to Benedict Arnold, one of America's most effective military commanders until he committed treason........only to one day die in obsure poverty, penniless and unnoticed......in England.

Sorry.......can't think of any similar cases in modern history, can you?

As to the source of guerrilla warfare, couldn't he be bothered for a little investigation of the subject before making yet more bogus accusations?

Apparently not.

The ironic thing this guy seems to miss is when he is calling us a nation of traitors to the British throne, he refers to us as "Benedict Arnolds" who HELPED the British in the Revolutionary war.

Now, Gen. Arnold's true patriotism and motives are still in question but that's another thread.

I am aghast you missed my point. I am aware it was Benedict Arnold who assisted my British forebears in slapping your country around for some time but in the world today, a Benedict Arnold is a term for a traitor, turncoat etc. I was using his name to make a point. You believe we British even gave a damn about Benedict Arnold? He did not help us, he intended to help himself. Under British honour, we hold such individuals in contempt for if he would betray his own people then there is no doubt it would not take much to have him switch sides. Such individuals resemble the crud we wipe from the bottom of our jackboots.

I don't think you were aware of Benedict Arnold since you didn't use "his name to make a point", you used someone else's. You said, "The USA is a nation of Benjamin Arnolds.", which is pretty much a pointless statement since no one knows who "Benjamin Arnold" is.

Oops. A mere typo. I type too quickly. I am fully aware of who Benedict Arnold is. I have a tendency to mix him up with your Benjamin Franklin. Hmm. Benjamin Arnold and Benedict Franklin? LOL. Love how you jumped on that. Strange everyone else missed that. No matter. I know of whom I was speaking. Perhaps I need to learn how to slow down my typing. There is no doubt I am the fastest typist in this room. You may go now. I hereby dismiss you as my forebears dismissed General Washington so many years ago.

Your point? You haven't had a point since you began posting here. It's been nothing but nonstop childish put downs of the US and insults directed toward many people who actually agree with you on several points with the apparent intention of pissing people off.
MY point was how it was ironic that, of all the examples of traitors down through history you COULD have used, you chose a British sympathizer to illustrate how the US was traitorous to the BRITISH!

The rest of your postings I couldn't care less about because they sound like a child taunting another while standing next to his big brother knowing the other kid can't kick his ass.

Quickly! Give me the name of the most-famous traitor an American can possibly think of. Benedict Arnold right? I thought so. Thank you for finally seeing my point. Now name a traitor OTHER than Benedict Arnold. What? You have not a clue? I can give you one. George Washington. Watch what this guy says about George Washington. If he says what I think he will say, he will have proven my point in spades.

Fastest typist, indeed........are there no bounds to your impudent arrogance?

Few of your "forbearers" who were contemporaries of President George Washington were fit to polish his boots, in the estimation of many of my countrymen.......as for myself, I take a more encompassing view, and consider that Americans (at least the WASP's) are nothing more than the more adventurous of Europe's people---those who dared the unknown, in the face of great dangers--people whose exploits of exploration are legendary.......you should be proud that many of those were in fact, Englishmen in ancestry, if not in name.

Of course, one has to wonder if the best of Europe's folk have not been evidenced on her shores since Normandy, 1944 and the end of that war a year later.

Yes, all the best of England have long departed the once great empire, now sinking slowly into insignificance, relegated to the wings of history.

And we returned the favor to France.......twice. "Lafayette, je suis arrive'!"...or something like that....

And, as a matter of record, it was Cornwallis and King G. who were "dismissed", n'est pas?:)

***********

I started to delete the above, not really caring for schoolground tit-for-tat exchanges..........but I decided to relive the exaggerrations of youth once more.....briefly.

Never forget that your great George Washington served the British Empire well. Oopsy. He turned coat. *LOL @ 'turned coat' I like that*. He became a coward too afraid to follow the orders of his British overlords.

So many wars saving the world no doubt weakend our Empire. If not for us the world would be under the rule of other Empires. Perhaps we should have allowed the rest of you to be enslaved thus saving our Empire? Who knows? I see jealous rearing its ugly head amongst the Americans. A tiny island kingdom built the greatest Empire the world has ever seen. The USA has lost every war it has fought and remains within her own borders. LOL. Fear not. Your envy is understandable. The USA has lost wars to nothing states. The British Empire defeated SUPERPOWERS. The USA never faced a superpower in its short life.

Remember that Cornwallis never surrendered to the Americans. He surrendered to the French. That must have been quite a slap in the face to your forces. Ouch. Such insolence! God love Cornwallis. Naturally he lost to a force 5 times the size of his own. The entire French Navy behind him in port. If not for the French the USA would probably be a part of Canada today. LOL.
