![]() Iconoclast Posts: 5,077 | Bad Laws In 1941 “The Oregon Law of Family Relations” book details how family is responsible for family. At this time the priority purpose of public education was preparing the young for citizenship and this has everything to do with moral training. Democracy is not a form of government, but away of life that increases moral awareness, and this way of life is dependent on education for its manifestation. Okay, so in 1941 we had education for strong families because strong families are essential to a strong democracy. Destroy the family and you get a welfare state where responsibility and authority rest with the state instead of individuals, and this social order destroys liberty. Along with the education for strong families were the laws holding family responsible for family. Education has since changed, and our laws now can get parents and grandparents evicted for having an adult child or grandchild stay with them too long, in a rented dwelling. This forces young people into charity and social services, and screams of our loss of personal power and lack of family values. It is far more destructive to our family order than homosexual marriages, and it is so destructive to our democratic social order, that we are far more threatened by our own mind set and laws, than by any foreign enemy. A welfare state is very expensive to tax payers and very destructive to our lives. Good Christians are supporting bad values as bureaucrats and property managers. |

Any chimp can do it, you just ask everybody what they want to do, and whichever course of action gets the most votes, you do.. And i have yet to see a nation that lives up to your democratic ideals. “Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.” -Albert Einstein |

What about a man and woman democratically making decisions, rather then one of doing so arbitarily? This can be taken too far, as in treating small children as equals, resulting in constant fighting and chaos, and is a misunderstanding of democracy. Democracies demand strong leaders and strong parents, and willing followers who understand the reason behind things. They retain an element of consent. Anyone with merit can be become a leader, as opposed to inheriting positions of authority. However, this is about relationships, not government. Democracy is a way of life, and our government is only one expression of that way of life. Democracy comes from philosophy and began with the idea that humans should do things the way the gods do them. It means discussing things until there is a consensus on the best idea. Now when people do not understand democracy as we no longer do, they assume authoritarism is necessary and surrender their liberty to that authority. This thread is about that authority creating laws that prevent families from helping their own family members. Do you have anything to say about this authoritarian reality, and the morality of it? | |

Th way th greek Gods do it is to ply or sneek around zeus until they get what they want, in the classical sense, the universe is a dictatorship of the king God. “Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.” -Albert Einstein |
