| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 8,663 | Could Bush fund a war with Iran over U.N. resolutions. President in having trouble getting funding for our current wars in Irag and Afganistan and so how could he fund a war with Iran also? No doubt he was hoping that his requests for billions to add more troops in Irag could be a new "slush fund" he could tap into to effect bombing raids on Iran, but as things turned out he will be struggling to keep the current war in Irag going and will have no unlimited resources to deal with Iran. He might try to sneak in more money as support for Israel or whatever, and then transfer that money to attack Iran, or whatever. Would Congress fund a war with Iran and give President Bush the authority to commander and cheif that war? You see, he has a trick. All the funds go into one pot. Funding for Afgansitan, funding for Irag, and funding for the build up in the Persian Gulf, are all smerged together. That way if we are forced to pull out of Irag due to lack of funding we are also forced to pull out of Afganistan and perhaps out of the Persian Gulf. No pay no play. And so funding intended for Afganistan could be used in Irag, or money for both of those wars could be used to attack Iran. Because none of the military activites are funded seperately. As odd as it seems, the U.N. is santioning an embargo on Iran even as Congress is establishing an embargo on the White House and it's Commander and Chief, and by default, the USA military. Via binding resolutions. But if Congress dares to fund a war with Iran then that money could be re-directed for the war in Irag because it all goes into one pot. |
