seeing america was formed out of revolution can the US goverment then not alow as a valid form of political protest a revolution to overthrow the USA goverment
suerly what wa good to be done to the the British is equally good for those who use revolution themselves

Castro took office by means of an armed coup. Gee whiz, if he thought it was such a good idea in the 50s, why doesn't he allow armed resistance to his own government? Those in power often close the door they used to others once they gain control. Nothing new, nothing unique to America.

If the people wish to rise up in arms and there are enough to conquer an entire country's military then that really says something about how strongly the feel.

And personally I would support any revolution in America. Democracy hasn't been doing it's job lately.

Care to expand on that thought? It might rescue this thread from its pointlessness.

Actually, democracy has been working exactly as advertised in America. The mistake you're making is assuming that democracy will produce good government and good elected legislators. Given the inherent flaws in democracy that's rarely the case.

Clearly, most Americans no matter how much the gripe are satisfied minimally enough with their own lives that they don't engage in any political activity. Consequently, those who do practice politics--the active minority--get to make the rules and decide how tax many will be spent and for the benefit of whom.

In a representative democracy like that in the U.S., policy is decided by those who are politically active, and never by the apolitical majority no matter how justified their claims. And, that is how democracy actually works, and has always worked.

Regards
S.
