Bush jr. is a fucking tard. I hate that bigot douche bag. I hope he rots in hell.
!00% correct...........As I said before, all the people had to hear was tax cuts and the blinders went on QUICK.

Tell me if this makes any sense to you. Here's a guy, Bush, whose family for three generations has been in the oil business, BIG BUSINESS people, with interests in the Middle East*&^%$#@ Now for the life of me knowing that the voting public knew this going into the last election and STILL PUT THE CLOWN IN OFFICE...man I give up.

Perhaps if the democrats put up somebody with charisma, ahh if only. Anyway, people are always stupid, the french peasants voted in monarchsts after the revolution.

Well, but they literally voted people in who didn't want them to vote, at least we have an illusion.

Empire doesn't necessarily undemocratic, at least for the core ruling people. But the U.S. probably does fit the defenition of an empire. we've been seeking one since before TR.

Nixon resigned cause he was forced to, and even he wasn't the worst, I believe even a survey among only liberal experts places him at like 3 or 4.
Bush shouldn't really be up for consideration yet, he's not even done, he could do more to earn a lower place on the list, or if I hope and believe enough **crosses fingers** might be able to salvage some good.
Nixon's years were a mixed bag: swallowed by his own paranoia. Even at his worst, at least he had the gonads to go and talk with protestors, talk to our "enemies," rather than hiding like a coward and shoving people in jail without due process, habeas...

You're right. George isn't done yet, so he shouldn't be on the list... yet.

But I find my first statement in the last para very frightening. We've done such a  damn good job in Afghanistan, Iraq... on to Iran. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Ken's weekly column...

I'm not going to bother to ask you to define "we", but I am going to blame media, and education for dragging popular opinion to, and fro until the extremes of either side seemed to liven up the ride. ( like a swing ) Weeee!

I can't state with certainty that the bulk of the voting population used to be more in the center, but now it seems we have a clash of the extremes whos only reference to "center" is the battleground they meet in.

We're a pretty moderate country, i think there's still monarchists in france. The democrats and the republicans are still pretty damn close on the historical political scale.

James Buchanan allowed the civil war to fester to the point of total seccession, and sided with the southerners, strengthening their position.

I think Harding is normally ranked last, his term in office was racked by scandal and he was a weak leader.
After reading a few things on Buchanan he takes the cake. This is the guy that did nothing to preserve the Union. Long before the South talked about succession he sat pat stating that he couldn't do anything constitutionally. He is also the President that encouraged (there is written proof of this) to rule against P. in the Dred Scott case, which pretty much made the civil war inevitable.

What specifically is bad about bush is it because he steps on our rights? many other presidents have doe this, it just wasn't publicized as much. If it's Iraq, the vietnam war was far more destructive. Madison started a war against a power totally out of our league and got washington burned to the ground.

I think it's the accumulation of mistakes and bad calls with zero accountability or admission of his mistakes.

The lies and the fact that he is probably the WORST public speaker of any president in history don't help his case much either.

Many administrations have fit that description, at least he hasn't almost torn the country apart that he swore to protect.
