| Hey OS; It just goes to show how R Paul's influence can grow in a unfettered media. Imagine if the major mediums were really free? Wow. Brien the Iceberg If you tell the truth you don't have to remember anything. M.T. |

| Autokylos asks about Pauls snivelling reference to 9/11? Quote:
Where did Paul get these incorrect facts? How does his tangled mind relate Al Qaeda/s 9/11 attack to our bombing Iraq in Desert Storm? I think this shrill squawker is a cipher, not a real candidate for anything except a place on the conspiracy theory board! Thus we play the fools with the time, and the spirits of the wise sit in the clouds and mock us.

The old, tired, indirect consequences argument rears it questionable head again? The US,years back, prior to Desert Storm had tried to help Iraq in its struggle with Iran? It had previous to that tried to keep the Shah of Iran in his relatively friendly role as ruler. But Iran went over to the Mullahs and the religious frenzy that we see today? Fact!!! The USA was asked to help after Kuwait was attacked an occupied bt Iraq? http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gulf_War Read the reference and discover that Iraq not only conquered Kuwait but also launched attacks on Saudia Arabia and others in it benign attempt at peace in the middleeast? Your infomed hero Paul is sucking political air or he doesn't have a clue of what the reasons were for the US bombing of Iraq..Even the UN approved that one? Oh yes. and Bush #1 didn't even push on to Baghdad because he believed in the good faith of Saddam. Guess what, Saddam started shooting at US aircraft flying patrol in accordance with the peace agreement? Osama revealed his fatwah intentions well before that time! His hatred of the USA resulted from his hatred of Israel and Jews in general..he figured the US was subsidizing Israel and he was right on that one? Thus we play the fools with the time, and the spirits of the wise sit in the clouds and mock us.

| New Video: Educating Rudy Press Conference May 25, 2007 Congressman Ron Paul and Dr. Michael Scheuer, former chief of the CIA's bin Laden unit, held a press conference yesterday at the National Press Club to educate Rudy Giuliani on American foreign policy in the Middle East. Dr. Paul gave Mr. Giuliani a reading assignment which is at the end of the 13-minute video clip. | Interesting find brien. What struck me immediately is the assertion by Paul that our foreign policy has indirect consequences with other nations? Is Osama a representative of a foreign nation or is he a terrorist? He was chased out of Saudi Arabia way before Kuwait? and is in hiding? Is Al Qaeda a fighting force of a nation? Or is it just a band of murderous thugs? And so on down through the scattered terrorists and organizations that attack us? If reactions to our foreign policy by international renegades are what should guide us we are in trouble. Then it would would be like swatting flies. Reacting to the idealistic malcontents that inhabit the earth? Consider that? Paul doesn't. Foreign policy is made in the interests of the nation making it. Thus our policy in the middle east has always been to protect a major energy supply by achieving stability in the region. Thats to your an my benefit. Should we make our policy only after consulting with the UN or some foreign nation with different interests?. Their feelings should be considered but not considered paramount. Hey, the UN approved the toppling of Saddam! Should the UN be blamed along with Britian and the US for it? The other speaker on the video took much the same tack as Paul. A rather ridiculous one IMNSHO. e.g. Marines in Lebanon were there at the request of the Lebanese government. I'm not sure they fired a shot in anger? So a religious leader didn;'t like it? Is that our fault? If it was then we would never stir off our rearends to help any country..with humane aid or economic support? Even if they ask? Thus we play the fools with the time, and the spirits of the wise sit in the clouds and mock us. |
