Chavez tells U.S. government: ‘Go to hell’

MSNBC.com

Quote:
President Hugo Chavez told U.S. officials to “Go to hell, gringos!” and called Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice “missy” on his weekly radio and TV show Sunday, lashing out at Washington for what he called unacceptable meddling in Venezuelan affairs.
How did this conflict start?

How did this conflict start?
By Hugo wanting to win popularity in his country and get a red herring while his economy goes to shit. Therefore, he picks a fight with America and with Bush in particular, so he could jump on the anti-American and the even larger anti-Bush setiment in the world.

No, if we're honest we'll look at the actual origins of the conflict, which involve US attempts to launch a coup against Chavez and much historical US-linked bloodshed throughout Latin America.

If Chavez's downfall is in the US's national interests, I'd say go for it. By all means engineer a coup, but, this time, make sure the guy we put in power won't turn round and bite us some years down the road!

My, my... how democratic...

And who decides the national interests of Uncle Sam?

And are they empire or republic, representative or oligarchic, corporate or truly national, elitist or grassroots?

Please expound, little bear...

This is what pisses me off to no limit. When one country starts meddling in the matters of another country, ie: coup.

I have no support for people who dabble into other countries, for their own "National Interests" If you wanted a say in another country's matters, then become a part of the country in question...... hence what a country is..... a chunk of land, run by other people other then you, by the ways they see fit.

Which is why I agree with his anger towards the US and Bush putting pressure on him and attempting a coup..... I'd be pretty pissed too.

Now about him making the country into a socialist country...... I'm a bit weary, but then again..... democracy isn't doing the best either, so whatever.

If a country wants to have a somewhat independent course, we will not get out of their way. It's quite interesting how this happens so often.
We also waged a coup d'état in Haiti against Jean-Bertrand Aristide.

Chavez is much more intelligent than Bush. I think he is not too happy with CIA's under cover activities in South America.

I'm not sure if he is more intelligent, but he sure does know how to run his mouth and get the masses in an uproar..... kinda like a little man we knew of back in Germany.

When I hear him talk and debate, etc.... I don't hear anything intelligent coming from his mouth..... just propaganda and things he knows the people want to hear to further fuel his fire.

If we did what little bear is suggesting more often succesfully, then I'd probably start calling the U.S. an empire.
