Bush's surge already in latest budget

Bush's surge already in latest budget - Nation/Politics - The Washington Times, America's Newspaper

Quote:
The White House yesterday said there already is enough money in the budget to pay for President Bush's proposed troop surge in Iraq, leaving Congress almost no viable way to stop him before he commits the troops.
Some members of Congress had proposed using the power of the purse to cut off funds for the new troops, but White House press secretary Tony Snow said there's already enough money in the pipeline to begin the deployment of more than 17,000 soldiers to Baghdad to quell Sunni-Shi'ite violence and another 4,000 Marines to Anbar province to go after al Qaeda fighters.
"Funding for the forces and to dispatch them to the region, it's already in the budget. So we're going to proceed with those plans," Mr. Snow said.
That leaves Congress with few other options.
of course, the only reason why there could be enough money in the budget for this incredibly expensive increase is because the (GOP-led) congress didn't actually take any time to figure out how much money was truly needed. good ol' congressional oversight.

and thanks to their complete negligence with our money, our psychotic tyrant of a president can summarily feed more fodder to the fire - and threaten to enlarge the war to include iran and/or syria..

hope for america...

"I fully understand they could try to stop me," Bush said of new Democratic-run Congress. "But I've made my decision. And we're going forward."
CTV.ca | Bush, Cheney say they are firm on troop boost

So regardless of how much the population of the US opposes his plans and how much the rest of the government disapproves his plan, "He's made his decision and he's moving forward weither you like it or not."

WTF kind of democracy is this?!!!

WHY CAN YOU NOT GET RID OF THIS RADICAL LUNATIC!!!!

I swear on my own life, that if this ever happened in my country, I'd be the first one to form the opposition and pull this ass out of power...... my God, my heart seriously goes out to you guys.....

This is just insane!

if bush were to choke on his dinner and die, you would see me holding a block party in the middle of january..

we have become a dangerous, rogue nation, because our president has been given nearly tyrannical power by the gop-led congress, and many democrat fools. now, bush is also saying that the war powers resolution that congress passed before he invaded iraq also gives him the power to invade iran. and since he's moved patriot missile batteries and enhanced our naval presence in the area, it seems that he's setting our country up for yet another war - this time against iran..

with a madman like this at the helm, his untimely death would be the most ideal scenario. short of that happening, congress should vote down all future war spending bills - and move towards impeachment if they're so inclined.
