What do the people on here think of the English tunnel or 'chunnel' as its known as, thousands of middle easterners use it every week to slip into Britain.
Its a security nightmare I think, and if the English had any commonsense left they would have shut it down years ago.
I'm grateful that my government has a sensible policy on que jumpers, that is even getting tighter than before.

I love it. I can be in France in a 30 min train ride, rather than bitching around for ages waiting for the ferry. And I couldn't care less about the illegal immigrants coming in. But it does bother me that France does so little to police its end. Why the hell do they want to come here anyway? If you've already made it to France, or about the five countries before it, you've made it to freedom already.

The Chunnel's a great exercise in the alliance of two Western European nations and a testament to the stability of the region overall. Your xenophobic ways, however, are quite contrary to the progress of the greater society overall. I can tell you that where I live, New York City, immigrants make up 40% of the population and I feel safest of all right with them.

You prefer to be xenophobic. That means you fear foreigners. What a horrible thing. While people are dying because of lack of food and water and they're begging to come over here, you just say no. How can you possibly let yourself do that.

What I fear is stupid idealism like yours which takes no responsibility into issues such as criminal checks, which you would call harrasment, any third world illnesses they could bring in with no quarentine on them, which you would call harrasment.
Its admirable you don't want them to die, but you don't seem too worried about the taxpayers in your own country.

I think its awsome. I am very interested in seeing if this whole proposed tunnel between the Alaska and Siberia is going to be completed. Now THAT would be totally amazing! Can you immagine driving from US and ending up in Moscow or London. How about a family vacation in South Africa.

Of course it would be easier and cheaper to take a plane but its an interesting idea all the same.

Its a terrible idea, impractical, risky, and not worth the billions spent either.
Yes I can see the millions of Americans lining up to drive to Siberia for a holiday.
Coming from the other direction, this will also provide a land route for the Chinese Red army, on to your continent, don't think this wouldnt tempt them either, your just like Section 8, you never think of the importance of your national security.

China is going to be the worlds next hegemony, you guys are in the last stage of being the most important world power, China may not go to war with you, but you will be under their thumb from the feared threat.

Exactly, goodbye planet Earth as well, a major world power like China probably has the capacity to beat you in a Nuclear conflict, but the damage the US would inflict on China following the exchange would destroy her too.
I envision Nukes being reserved for Islamic countries or rouge states like Nth Korea who might be tempted to start a nuclear war.
China has a standing army of ten million armed soldiers, even if you wiped out 90% of them, using every weapon you had and over half your manpower, the last million could still get through and beat you in the end.

If a country launches a nuclear bomb on someone, say your forces in the Middle East, then it brings its own destruction apon itself, they have no sympathy from me.
Islamic states such as Iran and Pakistan will get hit in the next few years from a nuclear strike because they will probably inniate one on someone else first.
Nth Korea, a non muslim state is in the same boat, its not because there muslims I'm pointing them out Section 8, its because they support terrorism on a global scale.

I don't think the Egyptians were evil at all Section 8, for every free man that lived in Ancient times there were probably two slaves.
Slavery was a widespread thing, and excepted by all nations as pretty normal.
I think the Jews were one of the few peoples who didnt adopt slavery.
Anyway, whether I think the terrorists are evil or not has got nothing to do with the destruction they bring apon themselves and Governments who sponsor them.
