| Kuehnelt-Leddihn Location: Brookyn, USA Posts: 774 | Ethiopia & Somalia Given the theme on these boards that fighting Islamic fundamentalism can only breed more terrorism, and make their cause all that much stronger in the eyes of Moslems worldwide, i am wondering how much stronger the cause of Islamic fundamentaism has become after their recent defeat in Somalia at the hands of Ethiopia? |

I'm sure exactly the same argument was made after the initial fall of the Taleban & Saddam in Afghanistan, and look where we are now. What with the Islamic Courts promising to fight on, it's not too much to hazrd a guess that Somalia will slide back into anarchy. I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered. -George Best, on being asked what he did with his footballing fortunes. |

You still go on claiming that invading one of the most secular countries in the region, a country that never attacked us, is "fighting Islamic fundamentalism." Such a vivid if perhaps highly warped imagination. The US covert support for Somali warlords didn't work out so well. Only time will tell if using the Ethiopians as proxies is any better.
