| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 9,491 | Republicans hire new spokesman - Bin Laden After failing at everything else, fear-mongering seems to be the only tactic that the Republicans have left. GOP terrorism ad sparks Democratic furor Quote:

| moderat-e/o-r Location: boston Posts: 11,184 | olbermann definitely has a nack for breaking things down to the lowest common denominator. i guess the problem here is that voters don't perceive the republicans to be the enemy... doesn't matter if they've spun the country towards insolvency or that they've waged a completely unnecessary war that has increased the threat of terrorism... voters continue to see them as allies who are "strong on defense" solely because they start unnecessary wars they have no intention of finishing and are willing to spend $5,000 gazillion to prove that they support defense (even though they sent troops into iraq without sufficient equipment - and the number of troops used was arguably much lower than they should have been).. |

Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha... It's so ironic that sombody as well spoken as Osamma would outsource his message to GW, and Co.. I guess some messages need to be dumbed down to the lowest common denominator to have full effect, and if thats the case, Osamma made the right call here. Perhaps we will even see people leaving governmnet become add execs instead of going into lobbying. Lets face facts here, people are buying what they are selling to some extent.

| Igneous Magma Posts: 563 | Sure its pathetic but so was Bush's first 4 years. I didn't think there would be any chance for him to be re-elected after his first term either. Was that a matter of voting stupidity or was it a matter of voting fraud? Or maybe some of both? As to whether this Bin Laden ad works we might all know soon enough. |

| Molten Ash Posts: 29 | Nice Bush bashing! You guys must make up the entire Olberman audience. I accidentally saw that idiot's show one night and that was all it took. It was obvious to me that he is a wannabe communist anti-American terrorist sympathizer. He was blathering about the US treating terrorists harshly and crying about gay marriage. He sounds an awful lot like Al Franken to me with a little more school under his belt. These people are once again on the wrong side of history!! Good luck to the democrats!! If this is the type of rhetoric they plan on using to get elected they are going to need it. |

Absolutely not. That is why anybody voting Republican, or Democrat has nobody but themselves to blame come 2008, er, I mean 1984. 2008 = 1984

| Molten Ash Posts: 29 | I never said that it wasn't the Republicans who passed this. I am just saying that no political party is going to relinquish the power that this administration has bestowed upon them. I am not concerned that I may be picked up in the street and sent to GITMO, but I still don't fully trust Democrats or Republicans to run this country. |

1) Millions of Americans are stupid. I doubt that; uniformed yes, but stupid, no. 2) Millions of other Americans are smarter than those who voted for Bush. I would be interested to see the evidence of this. Sounds a bit deigning to me. It is easy to call millions of people stupid and be done with it. It is perhaps a little condescending to think millions of Americans are stupid because they voted for Bush. Afterall, look at the choices they had in the election; John Kerry, who did no better academically than Bush at Yale, or Bush who maintained a "C" average at the same institution. Perhaps the millions who voted for Bush simply thought he was a safer bet than Kerry. Furthermore, Presidential elections are not about intelligence, but more about the election process and who can manage it better than the other guy. Intelligence has near zero to do with elections. As for intelligent voters, perhaps the only really intelligent voters are the ones who neither voted for Kerry or Bush. As for voter fraud, it happens in many elections and has been documented since the 19th Century. Both parties are guilty of it. I am used to it.
