| BANNED Posts: 2,630 | Blogger: Idaho Senator Larry Craig Had Gay Encounters:towleroad "Blogger: Idaho Senator Larry Craig Had Gay Encounters Mike Rogers, the blogger behind BlogActive, claimed yesterday on Sirius Satellite Radio's Ed Schultz Show that Idaho Senator Larry Craig has had homosexual encounters and accused the Senator of "gross hypocrisy" for his anti-gay voting record and relationships with anti-gay Christian groups. Exposing hypocritical Republicans is nothing new to Rogers. In March 2005, GQ ran a story detailing the public figures whose sexuality has been thrown into question by the activist blogger. Those figures include Republican congressman Ed Schrock, former-RNC field director Dan Gurley, Representative David Dreier and Ken Mehlman, chair of the RNC. "It's about someone who's been aggressive against the gay community," said Rogers of Craig. Rogers stood firmly behind his statements and said he was prepared for legal recourse from the Senator's office. "Without a doubt in my mind, I am absolutely solid about the sources...The greatest defense against libel and slander is the truth." Said Rogers on his blog: "I have done extensive research into this case, including trips to the Pacific Northwest to meet with men who have say they have physical relations with the Senator. I have also met with a man here in Washington, D.C., who says the same -- and that these incidents occurred in the bathrooms of Union Station. None of these men know each other, or knew that I was talking to others. They all reported similar personal characteristics about the Senator, which lead me to believe, beyond any doubt, that their stories are valid." According to the Spokesman-Review, "Craig, who is married, denied the allegations through his staff, saying they 'have no basis in fact.' Sid Smith, spokesman for the Idaho Republican, said it would be hard to independently check Rogers' sources, adding, 'saying you have anonymous sources doesn't seem very convincing to me.'" Smith said that a lawsuit would be giving the issue "more attention than it deserves" and said that Craig categorically denies Rogers' charges: "The senator says the story is completely ridiculous. Mr. Rogers has no facts to back up his story. [The events] absolutely did not (occur); there is no basis in fact." Rogers defended his story: "I have never been wrong, and in this, you can't be 99 percent right. It's 100 percent or nothing...You can be gay and against same-sex marriage, but you should be honest and open. Why should the gay community protect an enemy of the community?" Yeah a married Grandfather doesn't sue for being busted by a blogger for sex in public restroom. coughLYING CHICKENSH*T!cough btw. "Fairy" Craig you are being laughed at OUT loud all over the internet here's 10 questions for Craig on a mock Meet the Press. But he added that "the Congress takes the consideration of a constitutional amendment very seriously. We're very cautious." got hypocricy? |

What a man does in his private sex life is no else's business. Perhaps he voted the way he thought was correct? His sexuallity has nothing to do with it and his private sex life is his own as long as he hasn't broken the law, correct? 1982 sex parties.... Hmmmm I thought you wrote that things which happened back around Gerry Studds time didn't matter. Got hypocricy? Well I guess we all do now. | BANNED Posts: 2,630 | Senator Craig has a history back to the 80's but just about a year ago were the stories about having sex in Union Station restroom,( while his wife was at the station,,,,btw.) If this guy wants to play in bathrooms, at risk of being caught, for nasty old T-room (toilet room) sex, don't you think that is news worthy, seems it was sure news worthy for George Michaels, and beating off in a dirty movie house was news worthy for Pee Wee Herman! So where's the double standard, filthy old Republican trolls get a free pass? This isn't private life when it's played out in PUBLIC restrooms. The stories from 1982 involved underage pages and cocaine....nice family values. BBC News | SHOWBIZ | Michael: My arrest was deliberate "Pop singer George Michael has said he thinks he got himself deliberately arrested for lewd conduct in 1998 to try to refocus his life after a string of tragedies. The star spoke openly about his arrest for lewd conduct in a Los Angeles public toilet in an interview with BBC Radio 1's Jo Whiley. " Pee-wee Herman Face it, Paul will always be known as Pee-wee. "Following the 1991 arrest, Pee-wee became an unperson. Playhouse reruns were yanked, Pee-wee's star was taken off the Hollywood Walk of Fame (actually this is just urban legend, but consider it repeated here as fact), and his wax likeness in the Los Angeles Movieland Wax Museum melted down for the sake of moral purity." |

Oh, that's not what you meant. (With apologies to Robin Williams.) I agree with brien that a person's private life is his or her own business. The one exception would be when a politician presumes to intrude on the private lives of others by voting for legislation like the "Defense of Marriage Act". Then, as far as I am concerned, all bets are off. Out the sumbithc. Rick "When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross." Sinclair Lewis | |

| BANNED Posts: 2,630 | Our Visit to the Union Station Bathroom Was Considerably Less Eventful - Wonkette TUESDAY 1/31/06 "BlogActive crew from sending us their newsletter. This morning’s missive brings news of the group’s open letter to an allegedly closeted Republican senator, who had the temerity to vote for cloture on the Alito nomination (which, of course, numerous Democrats voted for as well). Here’s an excerpt: "Tomorrow you will be faced with a vote that may have the longest aftereffects of any other you have cast in your Senate career. Tomorrow you will decide if your political position is worth more than doing what is right for others like you. For others like you, Mr. Senator, who engage in oral sex with other men. (Although, Mr. Senator, most of us don’t do in the bathrooms of Union Station!) Your fake marriage, by the way, will NOT protect you from the truth being told on this blog." and BlogActive: Real Truth, Direct Action] Senator Craig voted FOR Alito Editorial: Approaching Alito's Approval "Judge Alito's performance before the Judiciary Committee was the final, yet crucial, confirmation that my conclusions were well-founded. When the time comes on the Senate floor, I will readily vote in favor of his confirmation." Last edited by underbear1; Oct 18, 2006 at 10:45 pm. |

| BANNED Posts: 2,630 | LAist: Republican Allegedly Gay Senator Was Accused of Playing with Pages over 20 years ago "The latest Republican Senator accused of being a homosexual is the honorable gentleman from Idaho, Larry Craig. Mike Rogers of blogactive.com went on the radio yesterday to say that he is 100% certain that not only is the Senator a gay man, but one who has performed anal sex with other men. Producing solid brass balls, Rogers today even sent Sen. Craig an open letter inviting him to take a day off from lying about his lifestyle. Apparently the Right have no problem living by the, uh, sword, by getting their socially conservative voters to the polls to block gays from being married, but wince when the gay card gets used against them. Here at LAist we believe that everyone is entitled to their opinions. Therefore if a gay Senator wants to vote against gay rights, we have no problem with that, in fact we would listen closely to an elected official say, "look, I love dick in my mouth. I love anonymous same-sex humping. I love hairy men and young smooth boys. But I dont think that gays, lesbians, and our friends who are transgendered should be able to get hitched because..." We'd be all ears, with a press conference that started off like that. However the righty bloggers seem to want to keep their bros in the closet, claiming that their personal sex life has nothing to do with politics and outting these gentlemen is slimy. Funny how President Clinton's private sex life wasn't/isn't treated with the same respect." btw. the story is spreading exponentially, it had about 5 links last night on Google news, about 40 links this morning, now Results 11 - 20 of about 1,690 for Larry Craig. |

| BANNED Posts: 2,630 | A hypocritical senator’s closet bites the dust at Pandagon "Glenn Greenwald has pulled a ton of righty indignation from the past over the Clenis. These are the same people braying now about “privacy” for Craig. Too f*cking bad. .As should be painfully obvious, the issue with Larry Craig — or with pointing out the wildly promiscuous recreational-drug-aided sexual behavior of Rush Limbaugh, or Newt Gingrich’s multiple, overlapping broken marriages — isn’t to apply our moral standards to their private lives, but is to apply their own publicly claimed moral standards, as well as the core tactics of the GOP, to document that they live in utter contradiction to the sexual morality they relentlessly embrace for political gain… …Watching Bush followers angrily objecting to the use of sexual behavior and homosexuality for political gain — or listening them oh-so-solemnly lament how the Good People are being driven away from politics because of the personal, invasive treatment to which they are subjected — is about as jaw-droppingly astonishing as any spectacle one can fathom. This is a political movement built upon claims of moral superiority in the sexual and private realms. It is truly difficult to express the level of contempt and scorn that is merited when the most fervent supporters of that same political movement pretend to be offended and angry when it is revealed that the lives being led by their political leaders are grossly inconsistent with the sexual and moral values they claim to monopolize. These wingers can bleat about the Dem slime machine all they want, but they need to look in the mirror. These are the people who gladly take that call on the batphone from Uncle Karl, the master of taking out the other side using whatever means necessary to stir the Base. This act of outing Craig is simply pointing out legislators (and enablers) who are more than willing to legislate against those who wish to live their lives openly. If they are going to play the gay card they can’t run once they are caught with a stacked deck." |

Sorry guys this is a GAY THANG, and the Democrats haven't exactly been warm and fuzzy with us since 2004 election. Howard Dean ended the LGBT outreach office and PO'd a huge segment of gays/lesbians. So radical right no matter how desperate you are not to lose BOTH the Senate and House, this smear won't stick to Democrats. I didn't respond to these columns on their various republican sites, because I wouldn't want those sick F*CKS having my ISP or email addy.CBS and USA today and several MSM in Idaho have decided to run this story. |

Why, they are just furious that anyone would introduce issues of someone's private sexual affairs into the public arena, and particularly can't believe that someone would try to use a person's homosexuality as a political weapon. Most movingly, they lament that exploiting private sexual behavior this way will drive good people out of political life." This a great article of all the sleazy cr*p Republicans and their paid HACKS like Ingram , Coulter, and Queen Drudge have spread for YEARS, whether it's particular size and spots on Clinton's penis, McCain's Bangaladesh adopted daughter, etc.So don't whine when a rethug troll gets outed, you Republicans have been throwing a sh*tload of bricks from your glass houses, and now some are being chucked right back attcha. |
