![]() BANNED Location: Ohio Province, Rep. of Comerica Posts: 7,320 | Why is this not being discussed? Why are Democrats not blaming Republicans for this? The whole premise of the bailout was that if American failed, there would be disruption in the delivery of goods, and that no other company could possibly open up in such a failing economy. Now, just months later, we have a new startup airline, (the name escapes me now) and they are opening up in the same failing economy, with the added problem of having to compete with American as well. I remember signing on to babysit the banks if they failed, but I never signed on to bail out any old industry that goes under. We have been duped agin. Why don't I hear more about this? Why no follow up stories? To reitterate, why are Democrats not pointing the finger at Republicans now that its time for such behavior? |

"Citizens, Utt said, should not even have to worry about whether their elected officials are using public acts to do private favors. Because of the Daschles' arrangement, some uncertainty may exist, for example, as to how large a role Sen. Daschle played in drafting the massive airline bailout after Sept. 11. The bailout benefited several of his wife's clients." http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article....RTICLE_ID=27744 "why are Democrats not pointing the finger at Republicans now that its time for such behavior?" because they are the ones who duped you "I really like this jacket, but the sleeves are much too long..." insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results... |

Impeach, imprison, fine, or try for treason. All republicans and democrats in elected positions on the Federal Level, need to be investigated and charged for their deciet to the American public, and OUR LACK OF REPRESENTATION, which also happened to fire the revolution for independence. | I'm a pushover Posts: 344 | I can understand why politicians would just wait for this to be forgotten, but why isn't the press talking about it? I just bet it would get good ratings. How 'bout the part where, after 9/11, we gave the airlines mighty gobs of money so they wouldn't have to raise fares and fire people, and they did anyway? |

| Igneous Magma Location: New York Posts: 374 | lol I love these bailouts. The airlines can't seem to ever run their companies well. Even before 911 we had bailout after bailout after bailout. These guys have completely screwed themselves and now they're relying on us to subsidize them. It’s fucken ridiculous. We might as well just let them collapse into bankruptcy and start up a government airline service like we do with trains. It may be woefully inefficient but hey anything not run by airline execs has got to be at least a little better.
