Posts: 199 | I heard about a study the other day that said that the squigglier the borders a nation has, the safer it is. And what nation has the swiggliest borders according to a formula invented by these people? Switzerland :) This is because uneven borders are often due to geography (i.e. mountains, rivers) that makes it difficult for invasions among other things. Whereas, if you look at Iraq, it has straight borders on all signs; borders that could divide ethnic groups and make an easier target for enemies thus creating internal and external strife.
