Enron could not have rigged California utilities prices had not the state so royally screwed up the "deregulation" of the energy markets. It was like the Reagan "deregulation" of savings and loans that led to massive fraud and taxpayer bailouts.

Energy companies can rig markets but they usually require help. And, gas prices do typically fall after Labor Day. Must be a conspiracy.

Well, we know the Savings, and Loan Scandle was a conspiracy, so it's only logical to conclude as much as much about this example with the obvious similarities you yourself point out.

The largest since factor driving gas prices this season has been the mild hurricane season. That was probably arranged by Karl Rove and the oil companies. Yah that's it.
