Well said. IMO, it happened 16 years before my birth. It happened in 1933. Seventy one years later, the rule by tyrants is all but complete. Our spiritual strength is nearly spent, complaisance with evil rampant, "tolerance" has novel and ruinous meanings. Despots occupy the seats of power and our precious Republic has been replaced by de facto empire. Yet the public snoozes dreamily on. This really is the "Matrix"
