Bush has said repeatedly he doesn't listen to polls. I'm sure this is part of the reason why. The will of the people is far less important than the demands of his handlers. Not that this worked very well for Duke Cunningham.

Gosh, the people want it...... guess he will impeach himself now, eh?

Lot of good public concern does when the government is nearly untouchable by the public.

Too bad we're not a democracy or that would actually matter.

Too bad we aren't a CONSTITUTIONALLY LIMITED REPUBLIC, as claimed, or we wouldn't actually be talking about it.

Well let's see here. A MSNBC poll does not a Article of Impeachment make.

From our Constitution

Article 1 Section 3: The Senate shall have the sole power to try all impeachments. When sitting for that purpose, they shall have a oath of Affirmation.......And no person shall be convicted without concurrance of 2/3rds of the Members present.

From Article 1 Section 4:

The President, the Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States shall be removed from office on Impeachment for, and Convictions of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.

From Article III Section 3:

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort........

Congress shall have the power to declare the Punishment of Treason......

So, what is the end result here. Even though a poll suggests that GWB should be impeached, obviously the Senate doesn't either agree, (what's new), or they don't have the 2/3rd majority to get the job done. Why bother to waste all of the time and money if the votes aren't there. For a dog and pony show, like it did with Clinton?

I would agree with moving forward with Article(s) of Impeachment if the reality was it would be a success. At this point, I just don't see the votes in the Senate.

And the whole thing is meaningless. If the idiots taking this poll thought about it they would realize this would make Blofeld the president. Net gain, zero.

The only real way to effect change without trashing our form of government completely is for the entire Congress to be voted out in the next two elections, delivering a plain message of disgust.

I assume the remaining 13% were asleep, comatose, or too stoned to answer the question.

Yeah I would prefer GW over Cheney any day. Not that that really changes anything since it's basically run that way anyway.

An internet poll is not a reliable measure of anything. MSNBC is the home of that guy, you know the one, who attacks O'Reilly every night. What's his name?

Anyway, the people who get their news from MSNBC Iwhose ratings are always below those of FOX news) have a leftist political bent. I've no doubt that 78% of the leftists who follow MSNBC want to impeach Bush. Probably the same amount voted for Kerry. MSNBC web visitors equal about 30% of the population (not a random sampling). So if 78% of 30% of the people want to impeach Bush... you can check my math but I'd say that's about 20% of the total population. Sounds about right...

so higher ratings = better news. Actually its probably the opposite.

I've always had the impression Cheney was pretty much the driving force behind the Bush administration anyway. Bush was more electable but Blofeld was smarter, but whose face would you rather have in your mind as you went into the voting booth, the goofy smile or the evil sneer?

Granted, Bush is terrible, the worst Prez we've ever had. But... Do we really want Cheyney for President? Be careful what you wish for. You might get it.

That't why they downed Agnew first, 30 some years ago. He was a cheap crook. Now grant you, I admit many of our leaders are, and always have been, for sale, but Agnew could be bought for the low thousands...that was pathetic. Crooks yes, cheap crooks, no.

Compared to today, Agnew got a raw deal. These days a president (or vice prez) could kill someone on live TV and there would be people swearing the victim had it coming.

Cheney tried it and nothing happened to HIM, did it?

I subscribe to the belief that Cheney is just bad with a gun much to the distaste of a good portion of Red State America. It really is hilarious how many of these people would rather he had shot someone on purpose and in cold blood rather than have just been clumsy.

I was kidding about Blofeld deliberately shooting Whittington.
