![]() Fire the Liars Location: California Posts: 7,090 | Wouldnt it be funny if a large Black man snuck up behind bush and put both hands around his neck at this convention? Like bush just did to the German Chancellor Merkel......... ![]() It would have been even funnier if German Secret Service had shot junior for this act of agression. |

You can't expect the government to save you that well in a disaster of such a large scale very fast. Hundreds of miles were destroyed at once and the government is not like Christ in being able to be everywhere at once. Any improvements in government to respond better is going to be good, but all government rescues probably tend to get worse as the disaster gets bigger. If (GOD FORBID) a nuclear bomb goes off in NY, people who can walk out on their own on the perimeter will be the people to survive, the rest who wait there for the government will die of radiation poisoning. Look how long it takes government to repair roads. Look how bad education has been for how long with little change. Look at all the fraud in the welfare state that happens. I see nothing regarding the past performance of government that suggest they can guarantee you they can save you from anything. If you leave yourself in a bad position and are going to wait for the government to save you, you very likely could die, no matter who is in power in Washington. That is the nature of the government IMO. ![]()

Bush has no problem with any people, he governed every kind before he was President. He's just not going to be well received by those whose lives are dependent on governemt and government jobs. Those types are dependents and would have problems with self reliance IMO.

| Skeptical Patriot Posts: 7,746 | You are something else, GBA. First this ignorant clown acts like an uncouth slob with the Prime Minister of the UK (and I thought "Yo, Blair!" was a nice touch) and then decides to give the Prime Minister of Germany a neck rub. I guess he thought chicks dig neck rubs whether they want one or not. The stupid rube still thinks he's in a dorm, I suppose. And this classless clown represents the United States? I wouldn't even want him to go with me to a party for fear he'd embarrass me. Why do I get the feeling if his last name wasn't Bush I'd be seeing him in an episode of "COPS"? Not a day goes by that I don't see something that reinforces my belief that people are idiots. |

He's no clown act, if not for him, we'd be in worse shape because of the biggest clown act ever. ![]()

Regular government jobs should not pay more than the average wage or benefits in the private sector. Last time I read an article about the matter, it was printed that government employees (the unelected ones) were overpaid 50% compared to the private sector.

He is one I can see would need lifetime of armed guards, because I can think of thousands of people who'd like to see his early demise, better have a lifetime food taster too. |

Clinton stopped lifetime protection (excluding himself of course because he is such a bastard) and Bush and all future Presidents get 10 years. Being a war President, I think some executive order in the future will have to protect President Bush for life. Presidential salaries and retirement is small compared to executives at even modestly big companies. The pay day for them is after they retire doing speeches and books.

Respect of a woman's person is something civilized adult men exercise. I'm not surprised Bush thinks it's okay. And he wasn't offering a handshake, he put his hands around her NECK without warning! Perhaps Merkel was assaulted when she was younger and has a bad reaction to being touched by surprise. The look on her face was certainly NOT easy acceptance of a "friendly" neck rub (which strangers don't give anyway). The asshole in chief didn't consider that possibility I'm sure, but just charged right in being "friendly". Try practicing that "friendly style" on strange women sometime and see how far YOU get. Try a NYC subway. Maybe Bush could blow on Putin's belly too. THAT would be pretty friendly. Not a day goes by that I don't see something that reinforces my belief that people are idiots.

| My ducks are in row. Location: Heartland of America Posts: 462 | Bush is not running for re-election, so should you say he is gunning for votes? Ridiculous. Take it at face value. However, I have found it amusing some blame the federal government for the results of a natural disaster. Again, ridiculous. Common sense would tell you noit to stand on the tracks when the train comes through. The more reason to push for higher test scores, as I see stupidity in these such actions. Maybe some should pay more attention to Bush policy. The chances of seeing the light of the next day somewhat increases. Trig. Diplomacy is the art of saying nice doggie, until you find a rock...... A man with pebbles in his hand is wiser than a man with rocks in his head. |

There IS a mid-term election coming up and the president customarily lends his name and influence to those in his party who are running. This is hardly news. Quote:

Did you break through your dogma? The race-baiters are saying it was racism by Bush and others that led to the crisis. I point out that it was a black leader that helped create the hysteria. Why won't you shut off your dogma and admit who the racists are? It would be easier talking to the Spanish Inquistion than debating you. PC is the opposite of thinking. You replace dogma with thought. It's dangerous. And it makes you boring and gives you knee-jerk reactions to everything. I can't think of a single post from you that wasn't some slogan you learned from your masters...
