Its not gonna happen, its just political posturing.

Mostly by Dems trying to scare people into thinking Iraq is Vietnam2.

Its pure political BS.

Besides, if you were drafted all you would have to do is show up with your best same sex friend holding hands, express your love for him/her and tell the nearest same sex drill instructor and tell them how cute they are. Or eat a MJ Brownie.

I don't want people that don't want to be in any more then those people don't want to be in. We got enough problems with rocks in as it is. Last thing the military needs is rebellious draft haters.

So don't fear the draft.

Democrats? Hagel the Republican from Neb. was the person talking about bringing the draft back. Do You watch the news or read? If the Draft were implemented again I want it made permanent, we'd only go to War when we really needed to then.

proponents of a universal military draft are Rep. Charles Rangel (N.Y.) and Sen. Fritz Hollings (D‑S.C.), the top Democrats on the House Ways and Means and Senate Commerce Committees, respectively. Rangel has instructed his staff to conduct an in‑depth review of the make‑up of National Guard and armed services reserve units."-- The Hill The Newspaper For and About The US Congress, Oct.9, 2003

http://www.nathanielturner.com/reinstituti...ingthedraft.htm

Last year, New York Congressman Charles Rangel also called for the re-institution of the military draft citing disproportionate numbers of people of color and lower classes because of the lack of employment opportunities in the All Volunteer Army. His call was ignored even though it made waves in the media.

Charlie Rangel said it. He was the first one I heard, but I figured it was for political sniping. Trying to show that the Republicans wouldn't like having their sons subject to flying bullets. Then the more I thought about it, I couldn't figure if it was grandstanding or if he is really a stealth agent for the socialist side of the NWO that wants to garrison the world with US troops.

The draft is too dangerous for people like Bush. That means that they have to come up with better lies to justify forcing people to join. Better to use the economic draft. Make sure there are enough poor people that can't find jobs elsewhere to join up.

Vichio, you have no CLUE. There are currently 86,000 people falling off unemployment because BUSH cut ALL options for extensions. Also figure how that adds to the overall production numbers (less workers producing more goods) and it makes things LOOK positive. I have just been dropped off unemployment, I am a veteran, I am signed on every State and Local job service, I have over 300 resumes out, and have had 5 calls, and no job offers. You are talking without the facts.

TOTALLY incorrect. The first person to even talk about the draft pot 9/11 was Paul Wolfowitz.

The military is awesome, deserves respect, is useful, honorable, loyal and trustworthy. The person in ultimate control is a madman.

And there are 860,000 (or more) help wanted ads in several thousand newspapers across the country.

I hope they never reinstitute the draft. Then how will we know the real patriots from the phonies?

Besides I'd hate to have to depend on a draftee who is bitching about being there and not watching my back in a dangerous situation.
