A Nation of Victims is an article located at http://www.thenation.com/doc/20030630/brooks. In it the author compares Bush to a verbally abusive husband who is only a great communicator when he can use negatively emotionally charged language. It really is a good article, everyone should read.

It basically boils down to the way Bushs's emotionally negative tune controls us is it makes his supporters believe they are helpless without him, that he is the only thing between themselves and certain death terrorists. Unfortunately lefties he has us under his thumb by making us believe that its hopeless. How does he do that? By not giving any date as to when our troops will leave Iraq; by getting on a plane and heading to San Diego instead of Louisiana; by sitting with 7 year olds while Peter Jennings basically did the job Clinton use to do before he left office. But the no exit date is the real powerful tool he's using on the rest of us.

I voted for "who is Bush" because I think his policy is more then that of one person and his manipulate skills are skills handed down from Reagan, Papa Bush, and others.

Who is Bush? A group of people, seen in public or not? A conspiracy of agendas.

Halliburton, and who knows what all .... that is what Bush is. Rightwing religious organizations .... that is what Bush is. And a few other things that lurk behind that front man in the White House.

That is my opinon.

Now about the Poll - doubt if anyone will vote that they are victims of manipulation and brainwashing, so you might not get many responders who are willing to confess up.
