| Igneous Magma Posts: 229 | All good questions, rmnunez. Unfortunately, just like the Japanese-Americans in WWII and to some extent Muslims currently, the Sunnis in their triangle are painted with a broad brush. I hope that our commanders make some attempt to discern to guilty from the innocent, but given that we are considering--or may lready be using-- hit squads and that we casually discuss torture as n option in interrogation, it is difficult to believe. I suspect some of this is pure window-dressing to scare the terrorists and believe the military in Iraq are acutely aware of need to foster good will rather than broadbrush the locals. |
