It's beginning to look like the appointment of Donald Rumsfeld was one of GW Bush's more outstanding mistakes. I guess he doesn't think so, but then he's not the brightest bulb in the pack.

This is my opinion, but I believe that Dubya has nothing to do with Rumsfeld. I don't think Dubya could just decide to fire Rumsfeld. I don't think he has the "power".

I am also a Libertarian, and anti-King George. I voted to many to count, and I believe the record will speak for itself.

I find myself shocked at how well Patrick Henry expresses my opinion in so many subjects, yet we advocate different candidates. I'm a Russo guy.

I happen to think electing one more Democrat, or Republican will absolutely be the last straw. This country will implode with four more years of Skull, and Bones, or any other unconstitutional leadership. I would even vote Nader if thats what it took to unseat these tyrants.

I scares me to think that the largest third party of all is virtually unknown to most Americans.

I could vote for Russo.

We should not forget that you are never voting for who is more good, but rather, who is less bad. That is the reality of our political system.

I disagree. If you fall for the phony two headed monster maybe. There are GOOD people out there that could make our country (and the world) a better place. People just need to realize that voting for either Rep or Dem is actually throwing your vote away becuase nothing will ever change with these guys. They are working together. Enough is enough.

I plan to vote Nader, but He can't win because the electoral college cancels out the Popular...and if they don't like that result they control the supreme court. Puppet strings exist, but so does blackmale, and some know how to frame well.

1. "Miscalculation in Iraq" has claimed nearly a thousand Americans lives. Many thousand shattered US bodies and lives. Iraq civilians are dead and wounded.
2. War destabilized the region and undercut US security; Iraq now a recruiting ground for Islamic terrorists.
3. Cost of war so far: nearly 130 billion dollars. Borrowed money that your grandchildren will still be repaying with interest. http://costofwar.com/
4. Public opinions around the world: US is on nearly everyones blacklist.
5. Gas prices up due to instability. Corporate friends of Bush/Cheney reaping wonderful profits in Iraq. So there's a little fraud...
6. Authoritarians, not democracy in power in Iraq.
7. Prisoner mistreatment has shown American ideals of fairness are hollow.
8. Recovery of the economy? Too bad it doesn't create Jobs http://www.epinet.org/content.cfm/webfeatu...rowth_testimony
9. Budget surplus projections...have become a sea of red ink. http://www.democrats.org/specialreports/20...et/surplus.html
10. Bush thinks jobs leaving America is good: http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/04041/271362.stm
11. Tax cuts for the rich: increases income inequality that was already too severe.
12. Bush prescription drug benefit? Benefits Big Pharma, due to take effect 2006, drugs would be cheaper from Canada, but FDA sides with the drug industry to disallow such importation. Result: high drug prices, guaranteed profit to Pharma
13. No Child Left Behind: don't make me laugh. Unfunded mandate.
14. The environment: a nightmare record of siding with polluters and resource looters. Average new car fuel economy: down.
15. USA PATRIOT Act is a war on freedom in the guise of a war on terror.

I hope this list helps President Bush if anyone ever asks again if he can think of a mistake he made...

What happened to the topic? List W's mistakes.

Ran a small oil company into the ground in the 70's/80's
Owned the Texas Rangers and did nothing for them; including trading Sammy Sosa away. (thanks George, from chicago)
Was a male cheerleader in prep school. (gay guys don't admit to that)

Donald Rumsfeld was appointed to Bush's cabinet by Bush and serves at the pleasure of the President. Bush can fire him at any time, but with such a high profile, standard procedure is to ask for their resignation under some pretext and then praise their magnificent service at the ensuing press conference.

That assumes that Bush has complete control of his administration. roxdog can't speak for himself anymore, but I think he meant that his opinion of Bush is that he doesn't call those shots. rox would likely say it would have to come from "higher up."

Higher Up overseas...from the Home of Builderberger in Brittain. Kerry's plans would stem from the same place, where are Bush & kerry different other than the differences of their parties?

If it gets politically hot enough, Bush'll act. Rumsfeld may have tutored Boy George on the idea of invading Iraq, but Rummy still serves at the pleasure of Karl Rove... err... I mean, Dear Leader.

Quoting myself, heh. But there is a new study by the Lancet, a British medical journal, which was mentioned on MSNBC: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6354133/
Quote:
A survey of deaths in Iraqi households estimates that as many as 100,000 more people may have died throughout the country in the 18 months after the U.S. invasion than would be expected based on the death rate before the war.
<snip>
The survey indicated violence accounted for most of the extra deaths seen since the invasion, and air strikes from coalition forces caused most of the violent deaths, the researchers wrote in the British-based journal.

“Most individuals reportedly killed by coalition forces were women and children,” they said.
