| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 8,663 | Religion advocates faith in evolution. Religion advocates that you can become a better person if you have faith in their concepts, if you become better then you have evolved from not being better into being better. AKA - more fit (mentally and spiritually). Religion was a noveity in our social environment that caused some humans to evolve from their animalistic nature into what we call the human nature (or civilized creatures). In the past dominate religions forced people to make adaptations to conform to that new environmental novelty in order to survive as part of the cultural climate. They recomend spiritual evolution through faith in the potential that we can become better people - perhaps even evolve from the status of immortality to the staus of eternal existance if our soul can survive the dangers of this earthly environment of evil. Much like an animal might evolve new ways to overcome the dangers it is confronted with in this world. Or, evolution through to processes of re-creation via what they call being "re-born". It is still an evolution to overcome something felt lacking or disableling, sush as overcoming peceptural blindness by better visionary perception in a higher, more enlightened state of being. The spouting of angel wings, and finding our rapture from our earthly boundness to gravity _aka sin. So by all means believe and have faith in evolution and agree that Darwin is correct in some of his observations. Your comments are welcome. |
