| Navy Veteran Location: Texas Posts: 6,031 | I don't get it. When, say Hollywood make sa film featuring Islamic Arab Terrorist, teh Moderate Muslims stand up and cry foul, screaming in outrage at the stereo typing of thier religion. When an actual arab Muslim commits a terrible act in the name of Islam, they say nary a word. What the hell? Why do people let them get away with that crap? Call it out, for what it is. They won't speak up when the "stereotype" is being portyed in real life, but are so easily outraged that a movie for example is offensive? I say it's high time the rest of the world demand the Islamic community either step up to the plate and deal with the issue honestly, or we jsut ignore thier hypocracy. Einstein's "Theory of Relativity" is still being challenged to this day, but by consensus Global Warming is a fact... that's REAL science at work, why didn't Albert just go that route? |

Additionally, though it may not have made it onto your news services, there were mass protests against the 9/11 bombers and outpourings of grief in support of those killed. It didn't get as much coverage as those in support of the bombers, as in Palestine, but it was there. I just find it interesting how vocal they get over a movie, or cartoon, but seem far less when it's an actual event of terror by one of thier brothers. I agree they are not vocal enough and freedom-loving enough, but what can we expect with religion? Grandpa h. | |

The old "witch hunting cursades' have prompted many webpages proclaiming "Never again". Christians stereotype science nowadays (other then the doctors), branding them all as secular satans who are out to distroy the Bible which they feel advocates a war on Mother Nature and anything "naturalistic". If you believe that you have just stereotyped all relgions so noted as "nut cases". Now if you hang out with a local drug gang the police are going to stereotype you as being one of them, even if you are really just a nice guy. If you hang with a group you automatically assume that idnenty and are judged for what the worse members of that group might do. Joining a religion is like putting on the uniform of some military organization and you wave your rights of individualism. Our culure believes in bringing order about by creating classifications. Everything is classified as being in this or that grouping. If I post a opinon about some environmental problem people would automatically stereotype me as a environmentalist and then use the worse examples of people who claim to be environmentalists as a justification that I am not to be trusted or that I am wack-o. Is individualism no longer posible? |

Because, just like the poor, and disenfranchised here, they don't have a voice in the media. Is that really a big surprise? In truth, and you should be old enough to be able to observe this yourself, the media only grants them airtime when they gather in masses, and burn our flag. Kind of like the mass of outcry we see by Chrisitans when an abortion clinic is bombed? I don't know about you, but I rarely see that happen here, unless it is directly challenged.
