Artificial VS. Naturally Occuring Deprivation:

Here is an interesting psychological take on coercion. What I found most intresting is the discussion of artificial (human-made) deprivation of resources and natural deprivation
(without social intervention).

Beyond Murray Sidman's Coercion and Its Fallout:
http://www.findarticles.com/p/articl...07/ai_n8727257

Interestingly, the article primarily discusses rewarding and punishing children, yet it relates incredibly well to adults. It highlights a phenomenon I think about often--how people use resources as a means of controlling and exploiting each other. I personally see this as an unhealthy process. A few related questions: Isn't life hard enough with manmade economic consequences? Shouldn't people focus their creativity on something positive and more sustainable? It seems as though coercion and control reduce the possibility of dealing with naturally ocurring deprivation, as the obvious negativity in class distinction reinforces anti-social personality traits, cynicism and even downright hatred of other people.

Not to sound elitist, but can anyone debunk what I'm saying?

There's nothing to debunk. Your comments are so vague and confused that they're meaningless.

Only if its not something you think about.
I understand it. Commercialism is the way populations are controled. It keeps the distance between the "haves" and the "have nots". In our society the belief of "lack" is taught from the begining of life and is practiced throughout our lives. The idea of lack breeds greed, greed breeds competition, competition breeds lack so its a catch 22.

Success Will Never Fulfill Ambition
Possesions Will Never Satisfy Greed
Indulgence Will Never Deminish Desire &
Victory Will never Appease Power

We used to be hunter/ gatherers now we're shopper/ borrowers

Vague? How is it vague and meaningless?
I would think 9-10 people on Volconvo can understand basic sentences and word combinations.

That is basically true. The point of my argument certainly involves what you said.
Much of adult society is surprisingly childish and negative--and I think it is so because people are coercing and punishing each other to do even the most basic things like live somewhere.

Yes, and I'm sure you would prefer the hunter/gatherer state.

Words can be, and often are, combined in ways that are gramatically correct but have no meaning whatsoever.

Don't you ever watch CSpan? Or the news whenever a politician is on?

No emnaing whatsoever? Are you teling me people are never deprived of resources by other people? Where on earth do you live?

But if you can't undertand what I say or what the article I posted says--you truly should give up debating on Volconvo. The meanings are so obvious I can't make them much clearer without strenuous effort.
