'Jesus is Lord'

Christians that say 'Jesus is Lord' are saying that Jesus is their 'commander in chief', the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings.

Jesus said, "You shall love the lord your God with all your heart, and all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself ---". > Matt.:22:37-40. "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say unto you, "Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you." > Matt. 5:43-44, "and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and to the evil." > Luke 6:35. --- "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; --- " > John 14:21-23. "Blessed are those who do His commandments"

Even Pres. GW Bush say that 'Jesus is Lord'.

Yes? Is there a debatable point here?

I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.

All of that is good to live by. I think we all should live that way but isn't that edict a "don't do as I do, do as I say"? It has always bothered me that we have these "commanments" to live by and if we don't God is gonna smite us instead of turning the other cheek. God has killed many of his enemies over the centuries or helped his followers to do so according to the bible.
To say God created man to worship Him is to say God needs something. If God needs something then it is to say God lacks something. If God lacks something then it is to say God is imperfect. If God is imperfect then it is to say we are doomed.

he has done many things, but they were all punishments for sins that they or their ancestors committed against his chosen people. God doesn't need our worship. He desires our worship. to put it simply, God has a crush on us.

God's will is written on the hearts of Gentiles. As long as I follow my consience, (something I have done since I matured), I'm clear before your God.

Hello Matt W,

Yes, there is a debatable point here is that Pres. GW Bush says that 'Jesus is Lord', his Lord.

The debatable point here is, True or false, is Jesus Pres. GW Bush's 'commander in chief'?

According to what is written my postion is that Jesus is not Pres. GW Bush's 'commander in chief'?

but according to his belief, Jesus is his Boss.

"for ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God."
"for there is none righteous, no not one"
"for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

in other words, your statement that you are clear before my God is wrong.

All have sinned? Only if original sin exists, a position I would vigorously deny.

No, I am not righteous. But a God who shuns those who have strove and struggled to do what their conscience tells them is right, though it means them being scorned, humiliated and beaten, is no God I would stand beside. And I choose the words stand beside carefully, because I will kneel before no-one, man, beast or God.

If God only gifts eternal life to his followers then he is not worthy of my praise. Many of my ancestors would not even have known of your God, let alone worshipped him, yet they are cursed for this? I would rather burn for eternity in damnation with my ancestors, than spend eternity in dishonour.

okay, to set this next point up, if you were going to enter a walled yard, if there was an open gate, would you go in by climbing over the fence?

If you are about to suggest that to get into the "walled yard"/heaven I must go through the gate/Jesus, we can stop. Unless I can bring my entire family and kinsmen with me, regardless of their sins, I'm not going.

well, you can either follow them to hell if they have not gone through the gate, or you can go alone. those are the two choices. it is THEIR choice to go through the gate, otherwise, I would be draggin you through the gate, concsious or not. you think that I don't have family who aren't saved? think again. I can't even memorize the names of even 15% of my family on the second tier (connected to them through parents), but i pray for those I can and pray for the family in general. they have free will, you can't make the choice for them, but you can exhort them, and many times, it takes just one in the family to bring the entire family into the fold. Paul and Silas led a jailor to Christ, and later on, when they got home, the jailor led his family to the Lord. it's like a domino effect. you tip one domino (lead a person to salvation) and the domino tips over the one behind it (the person's life shows Christ through his/her actions, and so on. "how will they know, unless we go?"

A Father that would choose one child over another lacks the capacity to love unconditionaly. I don't blame you that you want your religion to be the "right one", that would put you over the rest of us. Human ego, in order to feel safe needs to have that feeling of power. Humans try to describe God as having human traits so as to have some idea of what God is. Our ideas are all base on fear. Our whole society is set up to compete against one another, winners and loosers and most of the time we use fear to get our way. So are you saying God needs to use fear to get his way? Doesen't sound like a loving God to me. Your brainwashed from birth that you will be a winner if you follow a set of beliefs handed down to you by your parents or societal culture, which was handed down to them by their ancestos and so on.
If all of this planets inhabitants believed the same way then we truly would have a "heaven" on earth which would make the whole point of doing Gods will here on earth just to get into heaven a worthless exercise since we would already be there! All paths lead to God once you take the dogma away. If God desires our worship then God lacks something that he can't do for himself, again making God imperfect. There are a lot of things that I desire but because I don't get them doesn't mean I'm going to go and punish those that don't give me my desires. Does that make me "better" than God? No. So why should it be any different with God?

I am totally baffled when people [christians] believe GWB, when he says that Jesus is his Lord, his 'commander in chief'.

What happens to a General in the US Army when he does not follow the commands of his 'commander in chief'?

He doesn't choose one over another, as is illustrated in the book of Ruth. He allows us to choose Him. however, if one person causes harm to one who has chosen Him, the Bible teaches that the sin was not foremost against the person, but against God, he who hates God's children hates God. they have chosen not to follow God, but to deny Him. and if they attack the ones who have chosen to follow God, God promises to protect His children. He is willing that NONE shoud perish, but He cannot allow sin into heaven, and thus cannot let a person who has denied Him into heaven.

It will be a strange day when I exhort my living family to join a foreign religion. As I said, I would rather burn with my ancestors than betray them. Besides, your Hell is different to my Hel.

you will never be able to see them. hell is going to be so dark that you will never see anything, not even the hand in front of your face, if God can be trusted (and He can). there shall be screaming and gnashing of teeth.
