Why Do Some People Seem to Hate God?

The "Sects" of Christianity, as you wish to refer to, Agree on 95% percent of doctrine.

Recently, both the Baptists and Episcopalians have nearly had divisions within their communities over differences in attitude toward women and gays in the ministry. There are already dozens of "Baptist" churches. That 5% disagreement sure causes a lot of problems.

I really wanted to know the mindset of the God Hater.

By repeating that terminology, I can only conclude you've learned nothing from the accounts already posted. Despite that, I'll add my position. I don't hate god, any more than I hate the Loch Ness Monster, the aliens living at Area 51, leprechauns, the Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, Bugs Bunny or Elmer Fudd. They are all fantasy figures. If you choose to believe they are real (and the evidence of their existence is the same for each one) then you're free to do so, but don't act surprised if I consider you a bit addled. I find it difficult to take seriously someone with an invisible best friend. But I try not to be rude about it.

I can't have feelings for something non existent. Simple. Now if you ask why I hate the concept of a God, is a bit more difficult. The concept of God spurs humanity to focus on believing in the unreal and supernatural and takes focus away from improving social institutions and the overall welfare of mankind.

Well OK, but condiser that most people operate on the level that there is a God. So your's is a minority view. But what is real and truth? The question that each of us must decide. Question to ponder.

Let me add that because "most" people believe something does not speak to its veracity, only to its popularity and rewards for belief.

PETE: They don't neccessarily hate God, they hate what supposedly godly people have done to God and His church. I have two sons who have no desire to go back to God and His church because of the failure and the hypocrisy they have experienced among supposed Christians, and I don't blame them. Our job Pete, is too care what their choice is and follow the Great Commission as Jesus gave it to us.

"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations....." not preaching....not debating but teaching and loving them as He said to do in the new second comandment. Let's lead them to a close, personal relationship with Jesus and let the Holy Spirit do the work, ok?
