| Anarcho-capitalist Posts: 1,972 | I believe people won't ever experience death for a few reasons: 1) If we were physical, there's nothing that indicates matter or energy can be destroyed. They just transform into different things. 2) If we could be 'destroyed', or for an infinite period be kept from having any experiences, then we'd still only know life. If you're conscious for 1 year out of 1 billion years, you're still conscious of something 100% of the time you're conscious of anything. The remainder I'd assume you experience nothing. 3) And even assuming there was a way to destroy matter, I believe our consciousness doesn't even exist in the typical tangible form we see the universe as. (I think it's quantum energies that are links to consciousness) I've come to realize over the last few years that there's probably more value to the expression "The only thing to fear, is fear itself." than people typically see. There are some things that are beyond our control and it's liberating to realize that you don't have to worry about them much, simply because you can't affect them. So go for what you can do and be thankful for the opportunities you have. I started out religious, turned to science instead, and now I'm swinging a bit toward the spiritual side. It's been an interesting ride so far. Freedom - are you man enough to handle it? If so, join us in New Hampshire! The Free State Project ("Liberty in our lifetime!") www.freestateproject.com |

If we're quantum computers, then we could easily move from the quantum characteristic of one object to another nearby and not be tied to anything in particular. The distances are normally small but can be extended with careful engineering. Freedom - are you man enough to handle it? If so, join us in New Hampshire!
