Music, in whatever form, if it is from the right place is an excellent way to do this. (Incidentally, Church of Christ does all singing a cappella because they think having instrumental accompaniment would be evil.) But music is very spiritual by nature. If rap is your manner of self-expression, go for it. God just wants your worship to be sincere and loving and true. It is irrelevant what kind of beat it has. "David told the leaders of the Levites to appoint their brothers as singers to sing joyful songs, accompanied by musical instruments: lyres, harps and cymbals." 1 Chron. 15:16 "Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord" Eph 5:19 Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. -- Song 8:6 |
