This topic is a source of disagreement among most of the christian churches. Some allow women to share fully in the ministry, some allow limited involvement and others bar women from holding any meaningful position in the clergy. To those of us who are not theists, it's another example of how christianity cannot read one book and serve one god and manage to be consistant in the doing of it. Yet all swear to be following divine inspiration. The Forum Rules Radical Atheist Heathen Queer Let's agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours may be. (Ashleigh Brilliant) |

Biologically women carry the load. Men are expendable. Funny how the most primitive religions had a better sense of that. Starboy |

What difference does it make? The thing I like about the denomination I go to is that we don't quibble over semantics. It's the message that is important, not how it's delivered. Real followers of Jesus understand this. Don't forget... Lawyers were writing the Constitution while doctors were still bleeding people with leeches... |

I know my church currently doesn't allow it, but I'm not sure what the scriptural basis is for it. I'll have to check up on that.
