Many Christians ultimately feel that women and men have roles in society, aka, no they can't become priests because men are stronger and better and Eve screwed up. Glad to be an atheist.

To properly answer your question would require an exhaustive study of comparitive religions. This topic is a source of disagreement among most of the christian churches. Some allow women to share fully in the ministry, some allow limited involvement and others bar women from holding any meaningful position in the clergy.

To those of us who are not theists, it's another example of how christianity cannot read one book and serve one god and manage to be consistant in the doing of it. Yet all swear to be following divine inspiration.

If I were a woman and into supernaturalism I would most likely say screw all the male dominated religions and go back to the roots when women ruled the world and men were expendable. Biologically women carry the load. Men are expendable. Funny how the most primitive religions had a better sense of that.

No, it is not possible for a woman to be a priest in The Church, let alone a bishop. This in no way degrades woman, we should never forget that The Saviour Himself "was incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary". It simply acceptance of the fact that God made a woman a wife and a mother.

You already are a servant of demons. Besides men cannot send demons, they can only attract them by their sins ( as you have undoubtly done).

As a Methodist, I can say that it is entirely acceptable for women to hold any position whatsoever in the church. What difference does it make? The thing I like about the denomination I go to is that we don't quibble over semantics. It's the message that is important, not how it's delivered. Real followers of Jesus understand this.

I'm really not trying to be funny or derail the thread but when did women rule the world? Maybe I missed something in history?

I don't see any specific reason why a woman can't be a pastor. What exactly is a pastor anyway? In the Biblical sense, I mean. I know my church currently doesn't allow it, but I'm not sure what the scriptural basis is for it. I'll have to check up on that.

My understanding is that hunter gatherer societies were predominately female dominated. Their gods were female. Since they had little or no agriculture they relied on the natural abundance of the land. The fecundity of females was conflated with the abundance of the land so the fecund female figure was a common religious talisman for these people. Also in the hunter gatherer societies most of the food was gathered by the women. The men did hunt but it was not possible for the village to rely on the hunt as the sole source of food whereas the women could always find something. Because the men were out hunting so often this left the women by themselves in the village. They essentially ran the village, when the men came back it was mostly to catch up with what the women had decided to do. The women did most of the work as well. They made most of the pottery and baskets, built most of the huts in the form of thatching. And they kept the place going with straw and basic staples. And they mostly raised the kids since the men were not there all that often. Most of these societies were also matriarchal with kinship determined by the mother and not the father. Early Judaism was like that with vestiges still extant today. Within Judaism the Jewish bloodline is traced through the mother and not the father.
