higher moral ground?

I am not sure whether or not the United States is moral, whereas morality is correlative to religion. At times, citizens view civil liberties and democracy more important than piety and God. It seems that perhaps President Bush has more respect than the pope or any other religious leader. Indeed, the country is slowly plunging into immorality, especially through many tradtionally corruptive policies and decisions, such as those supporting abortion of developing humans and the medical use of the drug marijuana.

The use of medical marijuana is immoral? How is that?

Why do we talk so much about how awful abortion is, and almost not at all about how awful it is for a man to father a child and abandon the mother and child?

The US is a mix of higher consciousness and moral decay. Both are happening at the same time.

... I didn't say Haiti was a "capitalist paradise". It would fall into the category of the mystical/communist wasteland. Anyway, how is Haiti a "victim"?
