| Molten Ash Posts: 35 | Dear Reader How many souls do exist? Is it the same number that was in the Beginning or can the soul be created? If you create a soul, how do you know it possesses a consciousness? It is not too complicated to create an AI system that would respond just like the alive one. Then when the "soul" is created, it is immediately supplied with the AI system. Isn't it more interesting to live in a world were so many live beings exist? Isn't it cool how their number is getting bigger and bigger? It can be, there are only I and you, dear reader. You are used to by things in the stores. You never saw how they are being made, where they are being made, you just saw something on the TV. Indeed, how do They make those gears so precisely. You need a gear to use it as a mold for a gear. Someone wanted to discuss a theological question, and all you can do is throw in your atheist views. What are you trying to prove? You are just being an ass. You added no insight - just popped your head in to pick a fight about how stupid theism is. Quote:

Simply going into a topic to dismiss the very concepts with a condescending statement or two is not how we debate. No biggy, but just try to be a bit more respectful. Expect the same from others too. | Pure Energy Posts: 320 | One pie, many slices. Colonel Bill, Salutations from the arm chair. Gears are not complex and everything is AI. Gears full of potential, potentates full of gears. What is not artificed, if not intelligence? Artificed by nature, artificially deconstructed by intelligent minds. I see you know contrivance. It is easier to mystify than to explain. Contrivance has lead you to the notion of "soul", and now you must contrive a way back to the body as One. Undividable. Artificial or Natural? Let Intelligence decide. Dear Bill, It is not as complex as it looks. Like Madge said of Palmolive: You're soaking in it. If anyone should know about souls, Sir, It's You. One Pie. A bite for each. Each bite, a pie as "Whole" -is each piece. ~3.141, Dadoo -dling P.S. Not all pies are round. (Some Pi r squared) Leave both pain & pleasures behind you; Discover the treasures buried inside you! | Sedimentary Rock Posts: 12 | Being a pagan, I believe that souls are neither created nor destroyed and that it remains the same at any given moment, but it cannot be defined as a number as we know it. Just as the the size of the universe cannot be measured. I won't blame anybody who disagrees with me, it does sound silly. :) |

We choose to come here, and grow, spiritually from being on earth. It's atleast, food for thought. Einstein's "Theory of Relativity" is still being challenged to this day, but by consensus Global Warming is a fact... that's REAL science at work, why didn't Albert just go that route? |

| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 8,663 | The topic about the soul is more of a philosophy then anything else. Some believe there is an "Oversoul" from which each soul comes from and returns too, and maintains in communication with. Others who are into nature religions view the soul as the wind, and the wind often discribes the soul because you cannot see where the wind comes from, but the intake of that wind (air) generates the spark of life and that "life" is the soul. One early Christian tribe believed that the soul was robbed from heaven due to sex and was caused to fall into this world which they thought is being ruled by evil forces, so they preached that people should not have reproductive sex in order to save other innocent souls from coming here, where they would become sinful. That idea did not last for many generations because they had no children to carry on the tradition or teachings. Many Eastern religions believe in reincarnation of the soul and so we basically inter a new body when a new baby is produces, working off Karmas and preparing for the next life. Sometimes the soul can also return as an animal and so we cannot know how many numbers of souls are circulating because of the vast number of life forms, and if they invent computers with throught streams of intelligent thinking you might even reincarnate is one of those computers. So basically the soul is that invisible inner self which cannot not be totally comprehend (the eye cannot see the eye) and cannot honestly discribed. Or it is a place within ourself (sometimes called heaven) where we can find spiritual independance from the physical reality. Or the soul is......? A catch-all term for some some sort of spiritual factor. Carl Jung philosophy stated that the soul can be projected as a light from the mind into the future and then we can vision it projected on the sky as a UFO (unexplaned flying object that departs from our own body's mind). The "winged soul" was often painted about in anient times. But give me a couple of beers and I will go for soul food and soul music. Become one with the music and the music will set you free - let it Rock. In the beginning the word was, and the soul was what was the Watcher of the Word. amen. Then there is me, Technosoul. The merging of technology and soul and our evolution into the thinking robots of our future becoming. |
