| Igneous Magma Posts: 208 | the religion of love. I made a religion, it's called Runism. I follow it, it means you live life however you feel, try to help others, but be a realist. don't get caught up in false hopes, and above all else, don't be mean to others, even if they disagree with you or anger you. only strike if stricken first, attempt peace many times before resorting to violence, and avoid violence at all costs. Have you heard of Mahatma Gandhi--The Courage of Nonviolence? I agree ["avoid violence at all costs.'] You may not believe me, but there are millions of people that already belong to 'the religion of love', but they are scattered all over the world doing their good works because of the love they have. When the Spirit of Love is within us, love rules in every aspect of our lives. Ask a little child, if he or she would want to live in a world where Love ruled in every aspect of the human community? Can you imagine what the world would be like, where Love ruled in every aspect of the human community? If all we are talking about is an appreciation of life and reality, then religion is an obstacle, not a method of achieving this. |

You have heard it said that talk is cheap. To say, "I love you" are only words. I've been to a few christian churches where they were chanting "I love you Jesus" and at the same time they hate their enemies and support the violence towards their enemies even to the women and children. Also, while they are chanting "I love you Jesus" they are poisoning the ecosystem on this earth with bombs and etc. What's all that "I love you Jesus" about? | Igneous Magma Posts: 208 | What's UU Asterix? and how was that an explanation of religion? that's my belief, not that of any real church that I know of. all I'm trying to say is to avoid Conflict at all costs. I hate to fight, I hate to see fighting, and I hate to know that we live in a world where fighting is the on;y way to solve international disputes. I am strong, I really am, and like I said once, I wil do anything to preserve the peace, but if people attack too much, I do eventually fight back, in interest of saving myself. I hate to do this, it disgusts me that I would be dealing with someone that couldn't see that peace was the answer. Welcome to earth. Runa |

| Igneous Magma Posts: 257 | A UU is a very... umm.. well.. I would goto the www.uua.org for a formal answer. We have 7 pillars of faith the one that we can always seem to remember is to respect your neighbor unless he shows no respect to you. It's kinda like islam, but umm.. not at all. We don't really have a god, we don't really pratice any form of doctrine... more like... getting together to find peace in a group or by yourself but realizing that a community is a very good thing. It's a compeatly independant thing if you feal like it and it's much more of a life style then a religion. Basicly one of the things I am going for and is central to my religion is the search for total and compleat happiness and inner peace. As a deff of love here is one... when butterflies enter your stomach and you are totally shoched by what you read that you can't bealve it to be true. It's an indescribable emotion that brings about hate, hostility, calming, fear, jelousy, and pure care and actuilly just about any good fealing and any bad fealing ever. I prefer to think of it as calming and total trust. When said in that context though I was just so suprised that someone has the same ideals I do... it's not often I meet other people who think the same way I do. |
