Violence is natural to humans. How else did early humans get our food?

Regardless of our so-called "intellect", violence is part of our instinct, and instinct can never be repressed infinitely (unless you're a college professor).

There is a way of looking at this that the horrid hasn't happend yet. Nothing so horrific has happend for people to realize that killing and harm is wrong. People have a nasty way of being that unless something directly effects them they don't care. If a man gets splashed by a car on a rainy day and another man sees him he will walk by unless the wet man drips on his shoes.

I personally beleave that people take themselves wayyy too seriously. Religious fanatics and bible pushers beleaving their way is the one and only and then someone threatens their beliefs, best way is to get rid of the discerner. I like to think about it as the yes men mantality where people want to be around people who always agree with them and to be different is bad. Esp actuilly in the US we never did recover from the 50's with everyone wanting to be the same. It's must easier to use force to remove someone then listen with them. Personally I beleave everyone should be high all the time. Realize that life is ment to be enjoyed and that nothing is real unless you make it. Find true peace and laugh your ass off when you start to read things like there is only god and that is that.

I also think that everyone wants to be right. Well... if 2 people dissagree in a room and no one listens to each other since both know they are right but dissagree with each other... there is no reason. Without reason you have voilence as a primal urge. Alright I am really tired at this point and can gaurentee that I can come up with something better tomm.

See it all biols down to people being right. In the scientific community there are heuge debates and lots of hostility becasue someone thinks he/she is right. It's when no one listens and seriously thinks about what is happening... that is when you run into problems. I beleave that peace comes through from exceptance and tolerance. When both of those get destroyed by religion or by governments or inward racisism it makes it impossable for there to ever be a peace. And it's a chetch-22... I am very intolerate of racisism of any sort, but there are people who are... and try to help them change their outlooks... I am not one of them, however I hope one day I can be. Peace must be ourward reaching... you can not expect someone to make you at peace, but you can make yourself at peace and share that and hope others are doing the same. (If you notice a lot of this is basic buhdist 101 and I personally think they got it right... )

I think everyone is right, and everyone is wrong, it's just a matter of how good you are at convincing others that you are right. I mean, look at how many people Hitler got to agree with him. I doubt the german people had anything wrong with the jews until hitler convinced them that they were bad.

Thats the thing though... everyone thought hitler was right and the jews were wrong... and the people who were in power really did horrid things becasue they knew they were right and really were not willing to listen.

and thus is the key to the human condition. everyone thinks they are right, and nobody is willing to admit they are wrong, and if they are wrong, they lash out, causing war and stuff. like I said, if people were a little more humble, and were more willing to admit the possibility that they are wrong, then that would make for more peace.

You're right. Animals don't declare war. But animals don't build cities and don't have things like socialism or fascism.

Consider war as an organised form of hunting.
