| Molten Ash Posts: 29 | Revenge What is your definition of revenge? Can it be justified? If so, when? I had a long discussion about this with my cousin yesterday and am interested to hear what others think. Instinctual, very much an animal part of our nature. Try twisting a cat's tail sometime... | Pragmatic liberal Posts: 421 | Revenge feels good when you are doing it, but most of the time it is counterproductive. The person you are seeking vengance against will likely target you in response, and then you are caught in a cycle of revenge that will likely not end well for either of you. In the long run, it is far better to just turn the other cheek. Now of course there are legal remedies, either civil or criminal, that are available depending on how and to what extent you were wronged. I do not consider that revenge though. You would just be enforcing the rules of society. Economic Left/Right -5.38 Social Libertarian/Authoritarion -4.41 |
