Mr. V, you never fail to impress. Linda Kimball only wants to reverse the Enlightenment and send us all back into the Dark Ages and you are cheering her along.

She is actually very funny - a militant fundamentalist who therefore turns around and rants about "militant" athiests." It is as if she is ranting at the mirror.

The Republicans keep winning, the dems keep losing.

Which by your rejection of anything this guy has to say, and Gorgo's critic... It would seem the Dems are gonna stay in their current losing pattern...

You guys just don't get it do you?

I am always reduced to laughter when I read such rants. She tells of the scourge of Evolution and it's bastard child - that of Nietzsche's "Death of God"... I wonder though, if she has ever stopped to examine her own belief systems....

This is typical scapegoating. It is a tactic used by virtually all groups with autocratic aspirations. Its all about divide and conquer. Get the masses riled up about some group that has all these evil intentions and blame them for everything that is wrong with the world so that the people are distracted while you rob them of their freedom and/or money. And if that group happens to be your ideological opposite so much the better. Every autocratic regime in modern times has used this technique to some degree or another.

I think Eric, put it quite nicely. This article was awful and the person who wrote it is a mean spirited, hateful individual. Dripping with virulence.

Okay, you didn't make a comparison, my mistake. Hitler is not the only person who called himself a Christian who murdered, in fact, most criminals say they believe in god, they don't call themselves atheists.

Can you point out what I posted that could be considered a comparison? I'm not following you? Besides ,Hitler's atrocities pale in comparison to Stalin and Mao's, now that you mention it.

That you think marijuana has no effect on a persons judgement thus makes them safe to drive makes me question YOUR ability to make sound calls on what's right.

When you are high on MJ, you have taken a drug that alters your mind, that's absolutely the WORST thing you can do before getting behind the wheel of a car. But hey, you think someone whose mind is wired with mind altering substances is good to go at 70+...

Whatever man.

The only thing I got out of that article was an overwhelming sense of fear and anger by the author that someone could dare to consider an alternative belief system and the justification of demonisation of that group. As for the atheist revolution....its called people finally starting to wake up and face harsh reality with no wrapping up in cotton wool.
Funny that as the more information is disseminated the less people believe in God, apart from the few that are so indoctrinated that to abandon God would be to have a personality collapse because their belief in God is such a cornerstone in their lives....and the right calls this a revolution.

Sam, I will not argue this person has a rather abrasive approach to the issues, nor will I argue they are talking down anyone that disagrees. I don't like that approach as a general rule. Could it be this is a vent by the author. Tired of playing nice and lashing out?

Oh and I disagree with your assessment about "the more information is disseminated the less people believe in God..."

Were in the middle of a religious revival in America and you say that with a straight face?

Well said. Either this author is putting us on to make a buck, or there is something seriously wrong with her.

That says more about the type/quality of the information disseminated in america over standard media more than anything else. It demonstrates to me perfectly how your media manipulates your population and gives you only warped (American friendly) versions of the truth.

Not to mention any religious revivial which may or may not be taking place (I am not up on the current religious scene in america right now) could easily be a consequence of peoples future predictions for the American economy under Bushs insane economic policy, they probably figure to get in good with the church now because in about three years time they are going to need those handouts.

Funny, your attempt to throw it in "their " face is simply an indication of the problem. This isn't about anything except being on the winning for you. Keep it up. Your time is coming again real soon when the system gets another shake up and another Clinton is put in to give you seemingly opposing rhetoric (while basically being a carbon copy of Bush). The compromised and corrupted global elite keep winning. The American people keep losing.

Lou, Being on the winning team means the American PEOPLE agree with my views more so then they do with yours. Teh ultimate judge? The people. The have spoken... and speaking of another Clinton.. you mean the SAME Democrat President who while yes, was re-elected, also saw his party sufffer the worst lossess in the House and Senate in living memory? I dunno, I can deal with that I think. Another Clinton to stack the House and Senate... not a bad trade.

Both actually. And much of the left is partly responsible for these deaths.
No, they were militant communists. Some may have been atheists too. Does that mean atheism killed hundreds of millions? No. Some of the militant communists were white too :) Ohhhhhh watch out for Whitey.

Logic, they were both. They go hand in hand. They bulldozed churches and put priests in Gulags. They were proud secular humanists/ communists. Atheism was officially state policy.

And Vicchio, if people had real information to make real decisions, your incredibly laughable paradigm would fade rather quickly, imo.

Who cares if Bolsheviks or Catholics killed more people? They are both systems of control, both are evil, both killed million of people. So Bolsheviks buldosed Churches, how is that worse than heretics being burned at the stake?

Huh? So Hitler's supposed 6 million is worth more than over 100 million simply because he had I.B.M. computers?
(emphasis added)

A Holocaust denier, huh? That's smart.

At any rate, I find it pointless to bicker over differences between the so-called "left" and "right", and even more pointless to bicker over "Democrat" vs. "Republican." Do you people realize that the reason the past two presidential elections have been so close is because there is no substanitive difference between the two major parties anymore.

Both parties are bought and sold by special interests, both expand the size and scope of government at every possible turn, both continously pass laws that are beyond the Founding Fathers' intent for government, et cetera ad nauseum. Arguing whether the Democrats or Republicans are responsible for the problems of our country is like arguing whether green is a better color then yellow - pointless.

Don't forget... Lawyers were writing the Constitution while doctors were still bleeding people with leeches...

I harp on the phony right/left BS all day long. Why are you calling me a holocaust denier? And I didn't make the comparison, I was responding to someone else. Seriously, why would you make such a slanderous statement? You've seriously pissed me off.
