She is actually very funny - a militant fundamentalist who therefore turns around and rants about "militant" athiests." It is as if she is ranting at the mirror. | Pragmatic liberal Posts: 421 | This is typical scapegoating. It is a tactic used by virtually all groups with autocratic aspirations. Its all about divide and conquer. Get the masses riled up about some group that has all these evil intentions and blame them for everything that is wrong with the world so that the people are distracted while you rob them of their freedom and/or money. And if that group happens to be your ideological opposite so much the better. Every autocratic regime in modern times has used this technique to some degree or another. If you want the country to go to hell in a handbasket, then vote for the one who can drive you there blindfolded. |

Hitler is not the only person who called himself a Christian who murdered, in fact, most criminals say they believe in god, they don't call themselves atheists. Quote:

When you are high on MJ, you have taken a drug that alters your mind, that's absolutely the WORST thing you can do before getting behind the wheel of a car. But hey, you think someone whose mind is wired with mind altering substances is good to go at 70+... Whatever man. Einstein's "Theory of Relativity" is still being challenged to this day, but by consensus Global Warming is a fact... that's REAL science at work, why didn't Albert just go that route?

| Pragmatist Location: UK London Posts: 1,979 | The only thing I got out of that article was an overwhelming sense of fear and anger by the author that someone could dare to consider an alternative belief system and the justification of demonisation of that group. As for the atheist revolution....its called people finally starting to wake up and face harsh reality with no wrapping up in cotton wool. Funny that as the more information is disseminated the less people believe in God, apart from the few that are so indoctrinated that to abandon God would be to have a personality collapse because their belief in God is such a cornerstone in their lives....and the right calls this a revolution. I don't like that approach as a general rule. Could it be this is a vent by the author. Tired of playing nice and lashing out? Oh and I disagree with your assessment about "the more information is disseminated the less people believe in God..." Were in the middle of a religious revival in America and you say that with a straight face? Not to mention any religious revivial which may or may not be taking place (I am not up on the current religious scene in america right now) could easily be a consequence of peoples future predictions for the American economy under Bushs insane economic policy, they probably figure to get in good with the church now because in about three years time they are going to need those handouts. ![]() I wouldn't recommend sex, drugs and insanity for everyone, but its always worked for me. The have spoken... and speaking of another Clinton.. you mean the SAME Democrat President who while yes, was re-elected, also saw his party sufffer the worst lossess in the House and Senate in living memory? I dunno, I can deal with that I think. Another Clinton to stack the House and Senate... not a bad trade. They were proud secular humanists/ communists. Atheism was officially state policy. And Vicchio, if people had real information to make real decisions, your incredibly laughable paradigm would fade rather quickly, imo. |

A Holocaust denier, huh? That's smart. At any rate, I find it pointless to bicker over differences between the so-called "left" and "right", and even more pointless to bicker over "Democrat" vs. "Republican." Do you people realize that the reason the past two presidential elections have been so close is because there is no substanitive difference between the two major parties anymore. Both parties are bought and sold by special interests, both expand the size and scope of government at every possible turn, both continously pass laws that are beyond the Founding Fathers' intent for government, et cetera ad nauseum. Arguing whether the Democrats or Republicans are responsible for the problems of our country is like arguing whether green is a better color then yellow - pointless. Don't forget... Lawyers were writing the Constitution while doctors were still bleeding people with leeches...

And I didn't make the comparison, I was responding to someone else. Seriously, why would you make such a slanderous statement? You've seriously pissed me off.
