| Do you believe in ghosts? I do not. Ghosts are a figment of the imagination when the mind is under stress or 'expecting' something of the sort. I have viewed several shows on the Discovery channel and History channel supposedly documenting haunted sites and whatnot, and it all comes down to nonsense. Some of those 'ghost hunters' really look too far into things. I remember a specific case when they were taking pictures of a wall with a camera that had a flash, and they believed the reflection (dull that is may be, given the wall was wood) caused by the flash was a 'ectoplasmic blob entity' or some such nonsense. |

| Fyrdman | It's not that I don't believe that ghosts exist, its just I don't believe people who claim to have seen them. Except myself, but I'm not gonna get into that. Its like David Hume and his ideas around miracles, they are possible but the chances of them happening, or seeing them in the case for ghosts, are so unlikely that you can never have enough evidence to prove to me you've seen them. "I'd like to tell you what a wonderful person you are. But that would make me a septic gash of a c*nt who quite frankly had no concept of right or wrong." Sleep Talkin' Man |

| I heard a theory concerning spirits a few years ago. The human brain, when under stress, and in conjunction with our memories and eyes, project images instead of taking them in. Sort of like turning a camera into a projector. This produces "ghosts". They may be memories of scenes in our past, or from dreams, or even from television or films we have seen in the past, perhaps even books we have read. Don't know if I believe it, but it is food for thought. |

| I can't believe that in this day and age such a large proportion of the voters can be so gullible. War is Peace Freedom is Slavery Ignorance is strength Harness the power of Ingsoc, then you can capture someone killed the year before |

| Moderator | but we do know that they don't exist. So called ghost hunters are in the business of ... hunting ghosts. Not debunking them. So what kind of results do you think they are going to give homeowners and business owners that hire them? Science flies you to the moon. Religion flies you into buildings. |

| Lola Loves Muffins | Personally I don't think they're real... Just like you said Aequo, "Ghosts are a figment of the imagination when the mind is under stress or 'expecting' something of the sort", I agree 100%. The only reason people believe in ghosts is because it's a scapegoat for their mind when they here a bump in the night that turns out to be the neighbor's cat or rats in the wall that sound like footsteps... It's all thought up in your head, and then you head tries to use every little example you see and feel to prove it's a ghost.
