| Igneous Magma Posts: 237 | Do you believe in ghosts? I do not. Ghosts are a figment of the imagination when the mind is under stress or 'expecting' something of the sort. I have viewed several shows on the Discovery channel and History channel supposedly documenting haunted sites and whatnot, and it all comes down to nonsense. Some of those 'ghost hunters' really look too far into things. I remember a specific case when they were taking pictures of a wall with a camera that had a flash, and they believed the reflection (dull that is may be, given the wall was wood) caused by the flash was a 'ectoplasmic blob entity' or some such nonsense. |

Except myself, but I'm not gonna get into that. Its like David Hume and his ideas around miracles, they are possible but the chances of them happening, or seeing them in the case for ghosts, are so unlikely that you can never have enough evidence to prove to me you've seen them. Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. Winston Churchill |

| Sedimentary Rock Location: Georgia, USA Posts: 12 | I heard a theory concerning spirits a few years ago. The human brain, when under stress, and in conjunction with our memories and eyes, project images instead of taking them in. Sort of like turning a camera into a projector. This produces "ghosts". They may be memories of scenes in our past, or from dreams, or even from television or films we have seen in the past, perhaps even books we have read. Don't know if I believe it, but it is food for thought. |
