    Harry Potter versus Quran/Bible

Is there any way that we can distinguish the validity of the Quran and Bible compared to more recent works such as the Harry Potter series?

So far I consider them to be all identical in validity, if you claim truth of one you need to accept the others otherwise you become a sort of hypocrite.

How can we distinguish between the truth of Harry, Quran and Bible?

No, we can't; however we can distinguish between this and the above. You see, the FSM exists and is real.

    True story.

Society may be formed so as to exist without crime, without poverty, […] no obstacle whatsoever intervenes at this moment except ignorance to prevent such a state of society.

FSM is not like the Bible. I've actually seen the amazing power of FSM converting innocent people.

Damnit, I actually wanted a serious discussion, I want to hear from Christians and Muslims alike what the difference is, no one seems to be able to tell me, they just run away from the question, I dont get it.

The author of the Harry Potter books says that it is fiction.

One difference between the Bible and the Quran is that the Bible contains prophecies that are being fulfilled now. The Bible foretells that the Jews will be scattered among the nations as punishment for their sins but that they will be regathered to their own land. This scattering came about after the Romans destroyed Jerusalem and was punishment for their refusal to acknowledge Jesus as the Messiah who God had sent them. During their time of dispersal God kept them from being destroyed or being assimilated into the nations among which they lived and when the nation of Israel was formed in 1948 he began their return to their own land.

The Bible also fortells many of our modern technological developments:

Isn't the Quran based on the Bible, the next step? The Bible also fortells many impossible things, which oddly, has never been verified, or ever experienced in modern times.

I see, the the authors of the Quran and Bible is dead so you cant ask, can you? Perhaps the authors of Harry Potter is lying in fear of being forced to become the ruler of the world?

You need to explain yourself better, as none of the authors of Bible/Quran is alive, there is no one to ask, so this is kind of invalid as well as that means you take the word of some person higher then the Holy Book (Harry Potter, Quran and Bible), do you got something else?

L Ron Hubbard basically said scientology is a lie, but half a million people still believe in it.

Hey, Hey, nobody's running away from any questions (at least not me).

Assuming Quran to be the word of man (which would be the prophet), Prophet was unlettered, no formal education, wrote a book, impressive.
Harry Potter written by obviously an educated individual.

Quran addresses the readers, asks questions of them, less than a mere book, it is a dialogue with the readers.
Harry Potter is a book which is a tale of children learning magic.

Do you believe what has been written in Harry Potter to be true?
If not, give me a reason.

Haven't made up my mind yet.

J.K Rowling lived in a trailerpark and was a very poor and not very educated, today she is one of Britains wealthiest woman. Seems Harry was a ... Godsend...... Dont you think? Perhaps God wanted to reward here with a better life and wanted her to spread the word of Harry?

Question is, who would you be to go against this?

J K Rowling studied at Exeter University, where she gained a French and Classics degree, and as far as I know she never lived in a caravan site.

Author JK Rowling revealed in a BBC radio interview Saturday that a friend loaned her £4,000 to pay for her daughter's childcare while she studied to become a teacher:
The episode occurred when Rowling, now 37, was living on benefits in a rundown flat in Edinburgh after leaving her first husband. She had won a place to become a student teacher but could not afford childcare for her daughter, Jessica.
With just £70-a-week income, Rowling believed she could never afford to pay back the money, but the gift was to change her life, allowing her to graduate and teach part-time as she wrote the first Harry Potter novel.
Rowling has since become the first billionaire writer and repaid her benefactor with a £200,000 flat in Edinburgh.
Rowling got rather famous for her "from rags to riches" story, even if she cursed us with the Potter Books.
