| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 8,663 | Here is a report about the potentials for a new religion which hollywood type science fiction writers are channeling into our collective consciousness. A new fath based religion of the 3rd kind. http://www.stevedewey.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk...k/ufo/soc_u.htm Whatcha think about all the current attention being given to ufos and aliens, why is this happening? As long as people let others do their thinking or they are not capable of critically examining what others claim they should think then this will continue. Starboy |

I was attending this bible study class for two weeks before they asked me to leave them alone. I was told that if everyone was just making stuff up out of their own thoughts that we would have total confusion and anarchy and that the only way to maintain order and truth was to believe in knowledge that has survived the tests of time (in their case, the scriptures). In in schools of higher education a new theory in science that would endanger the ones they have been teaching for ages would come under attack by the elders of science who might fear changing their well-learned theory. It is partly about maintaining authority as the expert. No one but the new guy could be an expert of a totally new theory and so the old timers object to that threat, they don't want to cast away all they spent years to know about. Same is true if someone comes up with a new religion or interpretation - or a radically new concept for government or politics - or any unexpected idea that is unknown to them. Even here I have been attacked a number of times for new ideas, which they claim are just my personal opinion (based on thinking for my self) and not based on links to some well-known resource of commonaly agreed upon dogma. Individualism verses established dogma. |
