    Proof of God?

Please, I need to know which religion to be! I just want to decide on one thing for once in my life! Which religion should I be?

If you think you need a religion, consider the Mennonites. They enjoy a low stress lifestyle, advocate for peace and don't proselytize.
The Mennonites are a group of Christian Anabaptist denominations named after the Frisian Menno Simons (1496–1561), who, through his writings, articulated and thereby formalized the teachings of earlier Swiss founders. The teachings of the Mennonites were founded on their belief in both the mission and ministry of Jesus Christ, which they held to with great conviction despite persecution by the various Roman Catholic and Protestant states. Rather than fight, the majority survived by fleeing to neighboring states where ruling families were tolerant of their radical belief in adult baptism. Over the years, Mennonites have become known as one of the historic peace churches because of their commitment to nonviolence.

There are about 1.5 million Mennonites worldwide as of 2006.[2] Mennonite congregations worldwide embody the full scope of Mennonite practice from old fashioned 'plain' people to those who are indistinguishable in dress and appearance from the general population. The largest populations of Mennonites are in Canada, Democratic Republic of Congo and the United States, but Mennonites can also be found in tight-knit communities in at least 51 countries on six continents or scattered amongst the populace of those countries. There are also a significant number of Mennonites scattered throughout China. There are German Mennonite colonies in Argentina, Belize, Bolivia,[3] Brazil, Mexico and Paraguay[4] and there remains a small congregation in the Netherlands where Menno was born.

The Mennonite Disaster Service,[5] based in North America, provides both immediate and long-term responses to hurricanes, floods, and other disasters. The Mennonite Central Committee provides disaster relief around the world alongside their long-term international development programs. Other programs offer a variety of relief efforts and services throughout the world.

In the last few decades some Mennonite groups have also become more actively involved with peace and social justice issues, helping to found Christian Peacemaker Teams and Mennonite Conciliation Service.[6]

Or perhaps we could ask a more obvious and thought provoking question:

Why do you feel you need to part of a religion?

Yes, I like their beliefs of peace and such, but I don't belief in Christianity. I personally belief I can proof Christianity wrong, but that is a different topic.

I thought I didn't need religion, until I started thinking what happens after I die.

There are other ways of dealing with reality than embracing fantasy.

A religion i flirted with as an avid counterpart would be : Nichiren Daishonin Buddhism, which is about the flow of energy and how to best utiliize your energies into the universal system. It still incorporates the nirvana aspect of death; and the gatherings of the members are very motivating. if those are the parts of religion that you want to best be part of i recommend you look into it.

but i want to say choosing a belief and living by that belief wont ultimately decide what happens after death, i myself thoroughly enjoy thinking of just melting away into the soil when i die.

Imagine if you heard a discussion, between Stephen Hawking
and Aristotle talking, while comparing models of the universe
that's what it's like to follow when I use a verse

What do you "think" happens when you die and how could you be sure any recommended religion would be correct? Is it hard to accept that death will probably be exactly like it was before you were born, "you" won't know or exist.

Before picking a religion for this reason alone I think you should look at what you want to be in the respective afterlife. One religion offers a slot machine of possible organisms and another offers something else. Do you want to be something like you are now... humanoid? Would you prefer to be a form of energy blended with the cosmos? Maybe a ghostly figure haunting who you wish?

Better yet, what evidence does each religion offer for its proposed afterlife?

Well your question is kind of oxymoronic! If you want to decide on one thing for once in your life- why are you seeking peoples opinions?

But becoming a follower of Jusus Christ or (as some would say) a born again Christian is the only real way to go. as for denomination thast would be for you and God to decide after you read His Word for awhile.
