God Exists Regardless

Since God exists whether we all like it or not, I was just wondering what all the non believers plan to do before they die? Repent? Ask God into your heart or deny him and suffer the consiquences?

Saving the empovershed by empoverishing their counterparts will empoverish the whole.

None of the above....non believers don't believe in god(s). Duh?

If I'm the only witness to your madness offer me some words to balance out what I see and what I hear.

How've you been? Your children? Well I hope. Buried my father this month. He hoped he was wrong as to an after life. He wondered why good people had to suffer so.

As for myself, God has set a place for me. I've checked it out and now have no fear of death. The body is going to balk but that is its nature.

The atheists I hang around seem to want to live before they die. If during the living they have problems then they change that part of their life that caused the problem. You could say that they repent, as it is the natural thing to do, whether professing a formal belief in God or not. Or as my dad said:

SEA OF TIME

So vast can be our universe
So much our eyes can’t see,
Our minds can never grasp it all
And hold it eagerly,
Today is such a few short hours
Tomorrow so sublime,
We often fail to see it all
Beyond the sea of time.

Beyond the day we’re living in
Into the world unknown,
So little do we realize
How much is not our own,
We cannot measure life it seems
In days or months or years,
For minutes end in nothingness
And doubts bring needless fears.

Beyond the scope of yesterday
Into a sea of blue,
A golden sunset ever there
Where dreams can all come true,
It matters not what day or hour
What’s yours or what is mine,
We find that life’s an endless thing
Beyond the sea of time

An unknown bit of earth and sky
The years cannot erase,
A bit of ocean clear and blue
God’s own bright smiling face,
Was never meant that we should know
Though still ‘tis true and fine,
Our eyes were never meant to look
Beyond the sea of time.

If the terrain and the map do not agree, follow the terrain.

When motherhood becomes the fruit of a deep yearning, not the result of ignorance or accident, its children will become a new race.

'Repent,' me? Cheek! I can't start repenting at my time of life, I'd never get any work done. Anyway," she added, "I ain't sorry for most of it."(Terry Pratchett - Carpe Jugulum)

I wont repent for living my life,I have never harmed no one. Then I shall go into the ground and be no more!

alright wise guy. If you so sure there's a god, then which one is it? Also, look at the animal kingdom. There are so many creatures that are poorly designed. If god really does exists, then he's an idiot.

You can find me if you want me in the garden unless it's pouring down with rain.

if I go to helll it is because God created Satan and the serpent in the garden and the tree of the knowledge of goood and evil and told a human being not to do something and gave man choice and kicked man out of the garden because he was jealous that we became like him and he did not want us to have the knoweldge of good and evil AND eat of the tree of life (Genisis 3:22 to end)......as far as i am concerned your God caused man to die (by not letting them eat of the tree of life....kinda like negelegent homocide) and is responsible for there being a satan, hell, and death. and if man was created to serve/woship God,...thats pride. wows that pride, jealousy, and murder (3 out of 7 "deadly" sins) ......if Gods not perfect why should I repent.....maybe God needs to repent! (assumptions based on contemplation on the "infalliable" "word" of "God")

Based on what I've learned and experienced, and based on what evidence theists have presented to support their beliefs, it's far more reasonable to believe that gods don't exist whether most people want to believe they do or not.

Seeing no evidence that your particular god exists, and compelling arguments that he does not, my only goal is to live my life fully and not become entangled in the various mythologies which have done so much damage throughout the ages.

I only hope I don't find myself echoing the poet John Betjeman's words on his deathbed when he said his only real regret in life was that he hadn't had enough sex.

Wow, you've been absent for quite awhile I see, and you pull this? First you came into the vegetarianism thread saying "people only do this for attention", and now GOD EXISTS REGARDLESS... which God exactly though?

I actually believe in Zues the Almightly, you'd better worship him or suffer the consIquences in the afterlife. May Hades have mercy on you.

Anyways, its nice to have fanatic theists around. It would be such a bore without you.

Actually, one aspect of the eternal torture we term 'hell' is its utter solitude. In fact, I have a good case for the terms related to 'flames' are nothing more than a metaphor for existence (consciousness if you will) apart from any stimuli as we know it in this life. However, my theory does fall apart with the testimony of individuals, moments away from death, crying out about fire/flames/burning in utter horror.

Anyway, if hell exists for the unbeliever, I hope it's the party that you anticipate.

Hell cannot be worse then what some people are already living in,and thats what I think.

I dont see dying as a party and anyone would be foolish to think that. But my thoughts will not be on myself they will be focused on the people I leave behind.

Why should we repent?
What has a normal law abiding person done but live his/her life and be told to repent for what?
For being alive. I hate the fact im automatically told Im a sinner for apparently being 'created' by a God who finds me less then perfect.

I do find it amusing how some devotees of the loving god become ecstatic at the thought of fellow human beings suffering all sorts ghastly tortures, in some horrible afterlife.

The biblical concept is that an ambassador-type representative made a decision that affects you to this day. I presume that, for the most part, you can accept the laws and cultural norms that largely govern your daily life. These we not determined by you to any degree but by leaders in ambassadorial roles that came before you as well as those up until the present.

If true, it appears that you can accept the principle - just not as it applies to a sinful nature as found in the biblical narrative.

I accept the laws of my country, mostly because I dont want to break these laws, because I dont want to murder, rape or harm anyone else. But the other reason is, I dont want to be banged up in prison.

I refuse to be pushed into believing things purely because Im being blackmailed into believing I will die a thousand deaths in hell otherwise.

If I leave this world like damaged goods then so be it, I will not repent for living my life the way i wanted to within the realms of the law.
What sins could I have committed?
