That is a good question because it has no straight forward answer. Unless you consider theists rational sane human beings, who also think like rational sane human beings and happen to believe in God.

Actually there is a wall over you eyes. God says that he has closed the view of heaven from our eyes. It is said if you were ever to allowed to see in your life you'd faint in wonder of what actually lies all around you. In a way I often wonder if it's possible that when psychics and mediums see the dead, or souls or gaurdian angels if they may be seeing a small fraction of that with, perhaps, a gift of sight given from God. Many individuls who claim to obtain these types of "powers" later in life, have almost always reported gaining these powers after having been technically dead and brought back to life by doctors.

if one knows that this life is real.. not a matrix world.. then those who have no doubt of the true spiritual laws this world would know that there are no invisible fairies causing what we accept to be the "law of gravity."

also what would be the purpose of an evil demon giving us pleasure? why would he do that? there is no reason.

now when it comes to the matrix.. can someone explain to me or point me to the reasons why we have such a variety of experiences on earth, which include good and bad.. and a huge variety of stimuli... why the variety?

and would it our reactions that "they" converted to power or a battery ?
what happens to us after we die? are we doomed?

do these people who rule the matrix have human charactistics?

is all these answers besides the first in the book?
